Not a bad sculpt, if a bit "unrefined" to match well with the sharpness of a factory-molded toy, much less the Animated style. Very garage-kit-y.

 

I agree with (A), but not with (B). I think if the head were painted to match the mold, it would be fine. Arcee looks fine with Classics if done right, as SEVERAL Radicons have proven.

Not only does it clash horribly, but the grey color and mushy-looking sculpt don't look good either.

Thanks SQ7! As a Animated-Arcee-as-Classics-Arcee evangelist, I thought I was losing my mind here...

I think this effort looks OK, but I mush prefer the kit I got from our own uuser.

I feel like the missed opportunity here is that they ONLY did a new head and guns, if you're going to do the R&D work to put out a semi-professional upgrade like this, you should go the extra mile beyond what the fans have already been doing.

New arms, something to clean up the hip kibble, replacement parts to make the foot-mods easy...SOMETHING...

Awful. Doesn't work at all, and even stand-alone is just bland and uninteresting for a headsculpt. The Kup heads showed how great and characterful 3rd party headsculpts can be, these are just blech.

 

There is no way in hell I am letting that get anywhere near my Animated Arcee.

 

The only problem I have with this is that it costs $35 for a head and two very crappy looking guns. I repainted my Arcee to be more G1-ish and I have buyer's remorse for pre-ordering this set should have waited for it to go on clearance. Honestly, your paying more for the plastic cube it comes in (not to mention the memory foam insert) and the crappy guns than you are for the quality of the head sculpt. For the quality of this set it should of been only $15-$20.

The problem is the chin. it makes her face appear to much like a male. Infact if they recolored the head it would better for drag-strip.

 

Great idea, but it clashes too much with the Animated body.

 

I preordered it at BBTS. Hopefully it looks like it does on the packaging and not that test shot.
