I'm surprised the headrobots version is so popular. I've never really liked any of those. the head doesn't fit a classics design at all in my opinion. It's just a giant design clash between the square head and the more rounded body (not to mention the bodies of everyone else on the shelf)
With this, if they do go ahead with a proper line, I would definitely have a Headmaster shelf. This is one of the last major holes in "G1 modern releases". Kudos to TW for being the first to take the plunge.

I like the concept, but would have preferred them to do Chromosome first.

Looks like an allright figure. Head gimmick intact and pretty articulate. Until I see protos he doesn't look like he has much else going for him sculpt and transformation wise. I never liked headmasters and don't care about hardhead enough to pay a high tier price for it though. The full figure on its own doesn't look impressive enough. It's on my radar.

Those treads hanging off the shoulder bugs me for some reason though. It worked for Bludgeon but looks like it didn't have anywhere to go. Not sure why it sticks out to me.

I like this and will probably get it based on how well they did Hegemon, however, I would prefer to see their Optimus next and then after that I would love for them to tackle either Shockwave or Galvatron -

I kinda like the Treads Kanfing in there, also I only saw Hardhead at IDW and to that effect I like this better than the universe (which costs a soul and two others since I had interest in it :p ).

SWuyre I still want an Optimus, but I hope both come together :D  Oh joy!

I love my Headrobots upgraded Universe Hardhead but will buy this so that I won't have too many characters with the same mold (Onslaught, Clench) in the collection.

I hope the barrel doesn't have that gaudy orange cap on it! Other than that looks good. I've got Hegemon on the way so I'll have a better idea of their overall craftmanship soon.

I'm going to throw my opinion out there in the hopes Toyworld checks out these threads for input. The concept is awesome. But the proportions of the robot body are a bit off. Clean that up, make it a bit more dynamic and less awkward, and you have a win.

Also, please don't throw pics out there just to gauge if there is enough fan interest. If you release concept pictures like these I think you should be serious about producing the product. I don't want to be teased like Headrobots did with their "internal project" Trailbreaker.

I don't understand, how does this NOT look like Hardhead? Seems to be pretty much on the mark, to me, if we're talking an updated look for the classic toy.

Now granted they need to improve what happens to the treads on the arms.

toyworld I have one thing to say to you after seeing this... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
Im happy to see headmasters get some updates, form the looks of it the head will transform. If this turns out as good or better of what I have seen of their megatron I will be happy.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Hardhead being my only headmaster as a child, this will look great next to the Wal-Mart repaint.

Considering that a loose complete Hardhead sells on ebay for as much as $113 (according to recent sales records), this toy might compete for the same price.

I like everything but that giant red tip on the cannon. Dunno why but it's really distracting me from an otherwise very nice re-imagining.
