Just did a simple repaint on the back of Hegemon's legs. It looks sooo much better with the legs black all around. I'm thinking because the company is new that in order to make it cost efficient to use red for the light-piping and the cannon, they also had to make use of it else ware on the figure. Putting it on the back of the legs where you will never see it displayed was actually smart on their part but I couldn't stand the red.

I may do the elbows next but i'm worried about clearance issues with the paint and the fact that i'm completely an amateur at painting.

Nice. Gonna do the same to mine. But I actually like the way the red looks on the gun handle..so I'll leave those bits. What black paint did you use?

Why didn't you use gray or silver for the upper leg and just black on the lower half? Seeing that you've finished painting the legs are you going to do the rest of the figure: the head and elbows.

The upper legs are already silver. What you are seeing in the picture is the pannels that are attached to the hips. Those are black they just conveniently cover the back of the legs.

Also as I said in the post I don't know about the elbows as I said I'm amateur painter and i don't want to run into clearance issues. As for the head it doesn't bother me so it will probably stay how it is

Huh. I don't have this figure (yet), so I know little about it. Why are the hip panels covering the back of the legs? Are they just that big, and what purpose do they serve in gun mode?

they fold around the hips and around the top part of the legs to form part of the handle for the gun. You should check out reviews of him
