Face looks bad, though. Screaming face looks decent, but requires a fitting pose. Looks equally stupid to have the screaming face in a standard pose. Still curious if the v1 face can be used with the v2 head without any major customizing...

Nope, it'll take some work, slightly different way of connecting...and then trying to fit the eyepiece too.

imho the G1 head is too plain compared to the rest of the figure and is a good example of how going too far toon is a bad thing because the rest of the figure is awesome and has a more appropriate level of detail for an MP scale figure. new head is still better looking than the old head though.

Dammit! Oh well, I suppose it's not the worst thing to pose this figure in a raging sort of manner and just use the screaming one... Thanks for the info as always, though, Q.

No prob, the new face is really just a half face, with the visor as a chunk of clear plastic.

Such a hard thing to say, as they all do some things better and some things worse. Combined I think it's hard to look past Constructor, and not just due to the size - he's amazingly posable and solid. Individually, though, I think the Gravity Builder bots are a lot nicer than the Toyworld ones. Better made, better transformations, more personality.

As for the others, in value for money terms you can't argue with Unite Warriors (or Combiner Wars) set, as they do all four things (bot, alt, transformation, combined) really well. I also love Hercules combined, although the individual bots are a bit ropey. Giant is a lot more solid when combined, though again the individual bots are a mixed bag.

At an absolute push I'd probably lump for Gravity Builder as my favourite, although I really need to spend more time with Constructor before I can fairly assess him I think.

Thanks for replying. I liked what I've seen and handled of the gravity builder bots but the combined form, especially the head, didn't really spur me to replace my CW. It's nice enough but just a little too far from the G1 style. I felt the same about the original Constructor.

Once I saw that V2 I gave my money with barely any hesitation. I can't imagine wanting much more than this offers.

Just got an email from TFSource saying V2 Constructor is in stock. They are fulfilling preorders in the order they received them. Hopefully a week from now I will be able to able to join in on the party!

Gravity Builder is a bit stylised, yeah, and the combined is nowhere near as posable or solid as Constructor. For me, in combined mode Toyworld is the clear winner. I must say though that personally the in-hand experience of Constructor's individual bots felt a bit disappointing to me after Gravity Builder, even if they are more character accurate. I was so taken with GB's bots that I actually display them individually, which was definitely not my intention when buying him. I love how they feel and pose. It would be very hard to choose between either set as I love them both for different reasons.

That's very much how I feel about them, though I do love GB's combined form too.
The fact that constructor is so solid and pose-able is just a marvel to me really.

I've not decided what i'm going to do with GB yet, i want the toyworld scale, but like him a bit too much to just sell offhand. I need a basement or a bigger house.

So after taking a break from 3p combiners i wanna get back in again and wanna go in on this guy. But ive noticed that the arm bots seem to be sold out on most sites. So my question is, will there be a restock eventually and all i gotta do is wait, im just curious if anybody knows anything. Btw I'd rather buy them separately and looking for the green ones.
