DOTM Air Raid. I've gone on and on about how the robot mode is awful...but I like the alt mode. It's the only AEW&C Transformer that I know of.
Big Convoy and Long Rack Big Convoy's alt mode is really bad, basically a Mammoth statue, and kind of small, while Long Rack's is a bit too cute to stand with a bunch of Cybertronian warriors
TMII Dinobot and Megatron stay in beast modes because that is where the awesomeness of them lies. ROTF Ravage stays in kitty mode because he doesn't have an alternate mode, especially not a nondescript folded up mess of one...y-yeah, that's it... I haven't transformed Energon or Cybertron Optimus and Wingsaber out of combined mode (artillery mode for Energon) in a good long while. Trypticon stays in Dino mode because all I've ever had of him is just the bare bones figure, and I don't really have the room to set him up in his (very incomplete) base mode.
HA Sideswipe since his robot mode sucks and his vehicle mode is beautiful. MP Grimlock stays in Dino mode for the most part. Just like it. My Takara MP Rodimus stays in bot mode just because i do not wanna risk breaking a $220 figure. I transform my TRU one if i wanna transform the figure.
I never transform the following: Alternators and BT = Alt mode exception Custom Alternator Soundwave Primes with trailers = Alt mode Custom Devastator = Combined mode
All mine stay in Bot mode. I sometimes don't even transform them at all if they come packaged in Bot mode.
Do combined forms count? If they do, then PCC Grimstone/Dinopope. My MP Skywarp stays in alt mode. I have one shelf with alternate versions of characters... like, WFC Bumblebee or the other Optimus Primes. And those are usually in vehicle mode. I keep Optimus and Jetfire combined, since it has shelf presence and saves me some space since I don't have to make room for Jetfire standalone.
on the shelves, everything minus dinobots stays in bot or combined mode, but taken down regularly and transformed, the mp seekers stay in bot mode permanently since their wing joints are garbage,
Cyberverse figures in general, none of them seem to even attempt to be movie accurate but all be damned if their alt modes aren't perfect, especially Optimus Prime's hes a mini-me that I park next to his voyager battle blades version.
Legends and Cyberverse mostly stay in alt mode since I like how their vehicles look. Same with Classics/Deluxe Seekers and MP-03 Greenscream (who is admittedly a very realistic looking jet and I'm an Air Force buff XD). The other MP Seekers (white Takara, SW, TC) stay in bot modes and I never had a problem with their transformations, joints, standing them up or posing them. Faith Leader stays in robot mode mostly because the truck mode is mediocre at best though I do like the wheel suspension. Same with City Commander.
MP Megatron in robot mode. His transformation is irritating not because of the challenge but the QC issues and the pieces that tend to get in the way. And pretty much 75% of my collection is displayed in robot mode (of course, I fiddle with them however.)
