Has this ever happened to you? For example, you look at the pictures of a toy on this site and said "What a POS!" but once you saw it in person, you knew you HAD to buy it?

I was unimpressed with ROTF Mindwipe. *Flameshield*
The reviews didn't change a thing for me, until I saw him one day at a
Walmart and wanted him badly, but I was low on cash and it was either him or Leader Starscream. Couldn't find him ever again.

    RTS Lugnut.

Thought he was a huge piece of shit seeing people's pictures of him (Not the quality of the pictures, the figure just looked stupid), and the second I had him in hand, he became one of my favorite TFs ever.

TFCC Astrotrain for me. I just impulsed him because I wanted to get SOMETHING from the club at the time. After I got him I really loved him more than I thought I would.

Alternity Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, in a big way. I had nothing but terrible things to say about them on this board after the photos hit. But I ordered them nonetheless, and when I had them in hand I fell in love. Now they are my favorite mold in the Alternity line by a wide margin.

Battle Blades Bumblebee, since not many people who took the photos of him bothered to fold backpack tightly or adjusted chest panels correctly or extended the legs all the way. As usual, Hasbro stock photos didn't help his case much too. But reviews and features are good enough to make me want him.

    ROTF Mixmaster

I didn't think much of the robot mode in the beginning because none of the pictures I saw seemed to sell it for me, so I kinda ignored the figure. However, once I saw some cool comic scans, and once I got to know just how unique & articulated he was (especially in the arms), I knew it'd only be a matter of time before I figured out something sweet... and that's just what I did. Definitely takes the cake for this. :)

DOTM Deluxe Barricade. All the stock photos of him (plus his default transformation instructions) made him look like a stubby ill-proportioned, stomach-less midget. But a little mistransformation and TLC (glue on his ball joints) later, and he's easily my second favorite Deluxe mold from the line (after Starscream). Love his arms, and a really nice alt mode too.

RTS Tracks. The proportions just looked 'off' when we first saw pics, with a surprisingly wide torso, but when I had it in hand I just fell in love with the mould.

Pretty much the entire Kre-O line. It's crazy how much cooler those things are in hand.

The individual bots for Bruticus maximus looked pretty bland in pictures and reviews. But in hand they are awesome IMO. (not the combined mode)
    MUCH better than expected.

Generations Warpath for me *shame!*; every pic & review I saw made him look so blocky and boring. In hand he really is a good figure, and nowhere near as boring as photos made him look (to me).

It was the same with DOTM Laserbeak too - such a crappy looking thing in photos, but after getting him on sale yesterday, I love the psychotic little turkey! :D

G1 Bonecrusher. Fun transformation and he can become PUNCHDOZER.

... for that matter, Deluxe Bonecrusher. Not exactly fair, since the pictures I initially saw were a Custom (Jin's custom, actually) and they made his head look awful. After I got the Legends version and loved it to death (seriously, Legends Bonecrusher is my favorite Movie 1 figure) I decided to just go nuts and pick up Jungle Bonecrusher and he's lots of fun.

HFTD Bludgeon. He looked like a blocky mess in robot mode, and now that I have him I think he's great.

ROTF Strafe is another one - pictures don't do him justice, the colour scheme makes him look completely different from Mindwipe.
