    Can't say I'm surprised; speculation back when the bankruptcy happened was that the Asian branch would get bought. Like the Canadian one it's profitable.

    Well the last report i heard about the status of TRU Philippines (which is in Asia) is that the rights will be bought a certain Fung business group or something.

    The TRUs in East and SE Asia, except Japan, is a joint venture between TRU and Fung Group since 1986, so I guess they are just buying out their partner. It's why the TRUs here are seemingly unaffected by recent troubles.
