Doesn't that essentially make 90% of their non-clearence toys overpriced? Weird.

While it won't help with many TF things (as they rarely go on sale in flyers) it *will* be nice if I can carry the Lego catalog around when TRU has those BOGO 50% off sales...

Sure. I'm certain they will uphold this nonsense, since they've had price matching for almost 20 years and have never once acknowledged another stores prices.

Apparently the guy at RebelScum must have a killer Toys R Us, because the ones in my area have a shitty selection. No FOC figures, no TMNT figures (only vehicles), all the Star Wars and Marvel Universe figures are from 2011... the list goes on and on.

Wal-Mart and Target blow them out of the water in terms of new stock.

My TRUs have been better than my Walmarts and Targets in the past few months, when it comes to stocking, anyway.

As far as Star Wars go, ALL stores in my area are pretty abysmal. However, they have been the first in Portland, OR to stock FoC figures, GI Joe, and just about everything else, not to mention Legos.

However, I would love to get Legos at TRU now that they price match, but since I'm a Lego VIP member it's always better to buy at the Lego store physical location or online.

Still, it's nice to know that if there's ever anything I need, TRU can price match it if I can find an ad.

TRU always seems to get stuff before Target in my area, they just sell out of anything good even faster.

Seeing a wave at TRU is basically a warning to start checking Targets in my area. It's how I got Vehicon, Ultra Magnus...

This is interesting to hear, since on a lot of products TRU charges about 2 to 3 dollars more than target and Walmart dose. If people start taking advantage of this, TRU could start loosing a little money. but like I said, this is pretty interesting. I've got a couple TRU's in my aria who are pretty good at keeping things new in stock. I've found the one thing they always have a crap ton of, and a much bigger selection than target or Walmart, is Lego and other building block lines. I've found Lego sets at TRU that I've never seen at target or Walmart, even though they are supposed to be in the same case. It's strange.

So they only price match an advertised sale?
That is, you have to bring in an ad?

So I guess you couldn't just go in any day and say "You charge $3 more than everyone else on your Transformers".

Isn't that pretty much the case for most/all store price match policies for the major retailers?

Well, I wonder if they price match themselves on line.

    But about freaking time!

    Um, no they haven't?

Also, all those complaining about their prices, you realize that deluxes are now the same price there as at Target and Walmart, right?

And yes, they will price match their online prices.

I believe wal mart does it sale or no sale.

I think TRU should focus on getting exclusivity contracts with toy companies producing toys for the new hot cartoon and game series as well as making their stores look nice again. I want to love that place again and I want it to whoop department stores butt in toys.

How do they confirm the price at the competitor? One thing about an ad, it's easy for them to check.

Hmm. According to their website, it is only ad price matching: Walmartstores.com: Most Frequently Asked Questions

In related news: TRU will now only be carrying "exclusives"* not available anywhere else.

    * Not really, but this may as well be the update because I only set foot in TRU to find an exclusive. ;)

TRU has the same stock as the discount stores at 3X's the price.

I know many times I go to Ross and TJ Maxx in St Pete in the same plaza has the same stuff that TRU has in stock. It is a joke LOL.

    I think you are correct.

I know that the Powerwheel cars they have are specific to them. So if you try to use the Walmart one, that one is slightly different in features, so the will not match.

Could have been target or somewhere else , regardless the "Find it for a lower price elsewhere and we'll refund the difference" was played a lot in local (to my old area in Michigan) Wal-Mart ads.
