Yep. Most stores are receiving their final shipments this weekend. This is the last chance for consoles and I doubt they'll get more. Mind you, it's STILL just 5% off on consoles...might as well take your $15 saved somewhere else instead of haunting the gaming aisle for something you probably won't be able to find.

 

When are stores supposed to close again?

 

Yeah... I've asked, a used Switch at Gamestop is cheaper, I think.

Well, here's the trick. TRU is doing augmented liquidation, meaning the liquidator can (and probably will) introduce product that is not coded for TRU inventory. So, they might never run out, per se, but they might be flooded with who-knows-what in the final days of June.

 

The TRUs in the Seattle area finally went up to 20% off toys.

 

It seems like at some point people will get burned out with going to the store only to find the discount isn't really all that impressive. I guess if the store is directly on your way home there are people who will check the stores often but will people who have to drive far out of their way keep stopping by to see that the sale is still meh. It was big news when it was announced the stores were closing but it seems like most people have forgotten that the stores are closing.

 

In a local Target, I heard a kid ask his mother about going to TRU. She told him she had heard that they are already closed.

 

The deals still arent very good. I'm assuming the final week will be "the" week to go.

Good for them if they can make it work! There is no reason for any company to lose money in the toy business other than poor management. Without the dead weight and poor decisions piled on them by TRU USA, the Canadian TRU may fly high. With any luck, they might even be able to line up some sweet exclusives.

 

Went to TRU and saw a whole rack of Geoffrey dolls, so I hope no one got swept up in the craze and bought into those ones on eBay.

 

Manager of a local TRU came in to the place I manage today. She told me they were tentatively scheduled to close June 30th. However, as we have heard, the liquidator brought in a bunch of product so that might change. She said some of the products are really nice though and to come check it out.

 

Well unless they up the discounts alot more, they will have to go past June 30th,but yeah that was the scheduled close date.

 

I do not know if it is like this every where, but the Frederick MD TRU hit 30% on most items this morning, though the TF section is slim pickings at this point

 

I got an email yesterday from TRU that they had been bought. I'm at work but when I get home I'll read the details, but it mentioned the US stores also being bought?

 

The Canada division was sold so they're taken care of for the moment, but there's nothing in the news about the US division being purchased as well.
