So Barnes and noble for toys?
Yeah exactly just hopefully more successful, lol. And maybe have an "adult" section (no, not like that!) Where we have the more high end collectible offerings. Make it seem more of a prestige thing than a "grown ups going to a kid's store"
Not that I ever cared about going to a kid's store but I know some didn't like it.
Somewhere I can check the Lego collectable minifigure bags without felling like I'm being watched by everyone passing by
Well, it's not just TRU, unfortunately.
Elder-Beerman and their parent company Bon Ton are closing in 10-12 weeks.
Elder-Beerman to shut stores in 10-12 weeks, CEO says
I think the bid came with money from bank financing, he stated that none of the crowdfunding money was being used and people were not charged/refunded.
What Hoffman said.
Just got an email about new reductions. Are the action figures still 10% off?
I don't know firsthand, but someone in the MI Sightings thread mentioned they were at 15% now.
Fairfax Financial Holdings emerges as the stalking horse bidder for TRU Canada, Docket 2790 Prime Clerk
Toys R Us gets stalking horse bid for Canadian stores
Proposed Dates and Deadlines of Initial Auction of Remaining (U.S.) Real Estate Assets of any remaining owned real property and commercial leases of Toys “R” Us-Delaware, Inc., Docket 2787 Prime Clerk (273 store list starts on page 123)
Correct, action figures are now 15% off across all wave 2 stores.
If I am reading this correctly, the stores listed on there would be the possible saved US stores if a buyer is found? If so, both TRUs I worked at (Mayfield Heights, OH & Niles, OH) would be saved. That's a bit surprising.
Yay, sounds like they have a decent track record, hopefully some garbage company doesn't outbid them.
FINALLY! 40% OFF!
Now were talking... start walking around the store and see everything still at 10%. Ask an employee whats on sale for 40% and points me here. All one can do is laugh!
Made my potential last trip to TRU. Picked up POTP Optimus and Studio Series Thundercracker.
Darn. I was hoping Wichita would be on the list but it looks like we fell just short. I still think that comes from the result of keeping a Babies R Us on the west side of town...closing that one down and rolling all the business into the east location would have probably popped us higher on the list.
Would someone mind copying the list?
My son and I recently got into Gundam. With the revamp the bigger Barnes and Noble are suppose to have a hobby area with some Japanese toys and model kits like Gundam. The large B&N near me has exactly one Gundam kit and it’s been that way for months and months. The whole display area been empty and just look pathetic. While there’s another big B&N about 30 miles away and they have 20 Gundam models. I find distribution and selection for different B&N stores terrible - way worst than TRU. All B&N carries are usually funko, which isn’t how it’s suppose to be.
Made my "more than likely" last trip to the nearest TRU last Wednesday and managed to find some Studio Series Thundercrackers. Picked one up as a memento of my last TRU visit and left the rest for others that might want him for that same reason.
Has anyone seen any Wave 2 PotP stuff at TRU lately?
