Funny stuff.

 

Perhaps Cindersaur would have been better saved for some later time when they can make all 3 - as unless they can extensively remould Gnaw into one of the others - I'm struggling to think what the can make them from. Maybe Sparkstalker can be made from Gnaw (with some new parts) but Flame Feather ?

It did cross my mind that a bit of lateral thinking it might be possible to see a repaint of Battletrap as The Autobot Overrun or Energon Quickstrike. with a Red Helicopters and a black and silver pick up. I think if they did Blue Baccus out of it though that might be considered a bit weird.

Outback looks like fun ; I do wish they'd find some way to make Titanmasters & mini-vehicles of him and Arcee though - not to mention Roller & Optimus Prime and other that were speculated. The idea of having a little vehicle that suited them and came with an alternative head was appealing to me.

I'm still rather surprised that Titanmaster/Headmasters were not released as a basis of Takara Campaign toys yet.

 

Inferno's colors look cool I'll say that. If I get him I could repurpose him as Heatwave. As for his combined mode name I'm thinking Flame Ceaser has a nice ring to it.

 

...ooh, a rescue bot combiner would be so cool!.. =D

They likely just wanted to repaint Slash into a Decepticon dinosaur. They would have had no interest in giving us the best Cindersaur they can.

As for giving us Firecons... how about these three in the G1 color schemes for a box set. Keep the same heads though since the heads were never used outside of Japan before. I will agree that they are not accurate to the original toys but in the right color scheme, they would work well enough.

I was literally JUST thinking about when/if they would give us an Outback. 

 

Since Inferno appears to be a complete repaint of Hotspot (with new head of course) I wonder if any remolding was done at all to him. I do not see any Titan/Prime Master pegs for instance. I also wonder how the Enigma will incorporate in combine mode. Unless something has been changed at the base of the ladder, maybe Hotspot already has that functionality. Time to experiment with Defensor.

I just noticed that the foot in Inferno's box is yet another Starscream/Elita foot as opposed the Abominus foot.

 

Instead of Inferno, they could\'ve renamed it RID Optimus Prime or G2 Pyro.

 

Reprolabels will surley make a conversion kit to change him as such.

 

It is a lazy repaint but.... I don't currently have an Inferno and fire trucks have sentimental value to me. Damn it Hasbro.

 

I'd really like some more (Dragon) Predacons in a platinum llike box set and a G1 colourscheme would perhaps get the idea past the Hasbro design department gatekeepers obsession with the 1980's to the exclusion of all else.

The remold/repaint craze begun with CW hasn’t abated and it’s getting mighty annoying at this point.

However, we can't really say this started with Combiner Wars. Universe 2.0 Inferno has been repainted into:

Granted, most of these were some form of exclusive and not quite as mass release happy as CW Hot Spot's mold...but still, that's a lot of repaints too (with arguably a nicer toy, I might add).
