    Hi there,
I just purchased and received a Masterpiece VFA-6Z (Rook) from robotech.com

My question is whether or not there is any battery installed into the toy? Because if there are any batteries, then I will have no option but to remove it from the box (love my collection boxed). Cheers

My 3 VF-1's had the batteries installed.

Yes, so does my VF-1J from Toynami. I was enquiring about the Alpha fighters.
    thank you

P.S. how would you rate Yamato VFs to Toynami's masterpieces (VF-1s only)?
I plan on purchasing an armoured Yamato Valkyrie as my next toy (after getting another Skyline from AutoArt Millenium).
1:48 scale ones look so awesome.
I will end up finishing the masterpiece collection for Toynami though, and maybe bookends once I can afford to.
Have you opened yours? or decided to keep them MIB?

I don't remember any batteries at all in the alpha.

Once you get a Yamato 1/48 you'll be hooked. They are every bit as great as they look.

    Ebay:
I have the entire Robotech Masterpiece collection and none of the VFA's have batteries. Only the VF-1's.

As far as Yamato vs Toynami.....Yamato hands down. I did not really care for the Yamato 1/60 scale but the 1/48 is awesome. I do like the packaging of the Toynami and they are very similar to the old Bandai valkyries. My Yamatos are open and so are my Toynami valks technically but they are displayed in the book style boxes only. Pics of my valks are in the link below.

cool, my alpha might as well stay MIB for my gazing, or maybe I can't resist...hmm
I want to complete my Toynami collection, their display and packaging is really something!
Yamato's designs for the 1:48 are amazing I know, I want to get either Stealth, Hikaru's VF-1S or the VF-0S. Can't decide at the moment, but would love it with the armour parts.

So you've technically opened, transformered your Toynami's?
