A few days ago at a local shop I came across a 2004 Toybiz Hulk Classics "War Hulk" figure.

Marvel News Reviews Images and more - MarvelousNews.com

I wanted to buy it, but I wasn't sure if the figure was yellowed from age or if that's just how the figure is painted. Concerning his skin tone, the plastic parts of him appeared to be teal green colored plastic(^As seen in the pictures linked above), while the painted parts of his skin (sections of the arms, chest, and his left hand) appeared to be in normal green paint. His right hand appeared to be teal green unpainted plastic, while as did his left hand. However, most of his left hand was also painted normal green (for some reason the right hand was NOT painted this additional green). The arms also appeared to be painted green only in certain areas as well. Yet despite the right hand having none of this additional green paint, it DID have the black paint on his popped veins. This black paint also appears on the rest of the figure wherever there are sculpted popped veins.

I tried looking at pictures online of the toy, but they are not very helpful in showing the variances in his skin tone, let alone where certain parts of his skin are painted.

I just want to know if that is how the figure is supposed to appear, or if the one I came across was yellowed due to age, since the backer card and bubble were clearly not yellowed by any light, the bubble appeared perfectly clear and the backer card colors were vivid.

*If you have this figure, please post up your own pictures (preferably current) so I can determine what the deal is with the figure I came across. Thanks.

    Damn good price right there!

Anyway I sold my old one a year or two back so can't show you any pics but I can tell you when he first came out I never saw 2 of those Hulks with the same colors on them...at least not exactly. And believe me, I saw dozens of this guy in my area. Some were different shades of green while others had different degrees of "dirt" on their feet.

As to whether or not it's faded or not, if the card isn't then the figure likely isn't.

$10 for a MOSC War Hulk?!? Its a great deal unless you're tight with cash! When he first cam out years back he was one of the rarer and expensive Hulk toys ever!

The cool thing about this toy is that it actually appeared in the comics as "War" when he was controlled by Apocalypse and delivered a beat down on the Juggernaut and the Absorbing Man!

Now that I think about it, it was more like $6-8.

I'll run down and get him tomorrow, then possibly post pics showing you guys the wacky coloration I was talking about.

We will see...I've always wanted War Hulk myself, so...we'll see.

When I get this thing, I want answers. I want to finally figure out if it's been yellowed due to age; was painted funny; or if this strange "teal green-on-normal green" is how the figure is truly supposed to be.

What other Horsemen of Apocalypse/AOA-related Marvel Legends style figures did Toybiz make?

I know they made AOA Wolverine and Sabertooth. What's this Juggernaut figure you speak of?

Oh, I thought you meant the Marvel Legends one or the later red & yellow 2005 "X-MEN" Juggernaut figure.

The paint on War Hulk can vary from figure to figure. I've remember seeing ones with varying degrees of green to the teal-green tones that you mentioned. It's most likely the normal color of the figure. Even with the odd skin tone, the sculpt is pretty amazing! And for the price, don't pass him up!

Pics of my WH when he first was issued:
