Should we see them in the TV show of the next series or not?

Mainly to give the repainted toys a purpose for existing, also because change happens - just think at how many characters in Beast Wars got new looks because there were new toys out (okay, Rhinox and Waspinator didn't get their Transmetal forms but I would have preferred it if they did - probably didn't happen because Mainframe couldn't afford to).

Would anyone really have a problem if Lugnutz started sporting his Atomic colors until the end of the TV series or until he gets a new toy or repaint? Obviously some characters are iconic - Optimus Prime, Bumblebee so maybe their new colors could be the focus of a single episode and return to their original colors by the end.

Or should there be no change at all to how the characters look like? Maybe you don't care for the new color schemes or think that changing colors in the TV show just to match their new toys is pointless.

Are new looks important really? Even if its just to give the viewer something new to look at while still using an old character. Its happened in almost all Transformers TV series I believe.

I'd only like to see repaints appear on the show if the script provided a good reason for these color changes.

I liked the way G1 did it. Make one toy into multiple characters who could all be on screen at the same time (Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker anyone?). i'm not a geewunner by any stretch of the imagination, but i liked that particular part a lot.

Cliffjumper is a different character to Bumblebee. However Patrol Bumblebee is still Bumblebee.

Cliffjumper is already in the show but should there be an episode based around Patrol Bumblebee for example?

I think it would be cool if the alternate paintsceams for Ultra Magnus and Megatron were used as flashback decos to maybe show how they looked durring the war.

Eh, I think some should make it, but only the one's that are separate characters. Also, there is no z in Lugnut's name...

I prefer lungut's purple color scheme over Atomic Lugnut's.

But unless they can think of really good reasons for the character to get different decos.
I'd rather leave them out of the show.

Based on his bio, I can see Elite Guard bumblebee making a good episode or sub-plot.

No problem with it, just wish that they could give explanations like
"Lugnut? What's with the new paintjob?"
"Fool! Don't you know that we have to hide until our glorious leader shows up? We NEED him to fight the Autobots back! New decos are required for such stealthy mission!"

Yeah, BB parades himself around Detroit talking himself up as this big elite guard hero, and aliens monitoring the scene abduct him to free them from an evil warlord.

I wouldn't mind in-show explanations for all of the TFA repaints. It would help integrate them into the continuity. But simply using the card or box bios can accomplish the same thing. I'm pretty sure that Hasbro can come up with more repaint ideas than the TFA writers can fit into the show, so there will probably be some mixture of both.

Stealth and Blazing Lockdown could both be incorporated without too much trouble.

First 2 minutes of the show we Bumblebee in his Elite Guard scheme, then he wakes up and realises it's just a dream.

    Agreed on that.

Whether they get new paint jobs on the show isn't going to change who they still are underneath.
