hasbro sends you three deluxes for every $25 transformer purchase, i go buy a deluxe and two scouts i needed and guess the total....$24.90!!!!!!!! i ain't kidding, i went, grabbed a legend class figure ($5) and just returned them and rebought them, ...so now i have a receipt for $30 so i can get my three free deluxes...really though, $24.90!!!!!! it is like hasbro WANTS you not to get the free tranformers
So, it's Hasbro's fault that you couldn't add up the price of a Scout and two Deluxes and realize that it came out to less than $25? Now, that said, I had something similar happen the other day. I bought 4 Deluxes at TRU during their buy one, get one half off sale. At the same time, RotF Deluxes were on sale for $9 each. I figured that ($9)*(2) + ($4.50)*(2) = ~$27, so the purchase would qualify for Hasbro's promotion. However, TRU applied their discounts wrong, so it ended up as ~$24.50 instead. But, even if something similarly unexpected happened in your case, that's not Hasbro's fault, it's the retailer. Hasbro is not responsible for every single thing that happens which is even remotely connected to Transformers. Also, for what it's worth, you can send in more than one receipt for each "Double Your Action" order form to get a total of $25. You could have just bought a Legend separately and then sent in the receipt for that and the receipt for the Scout + Deluxes, rather than returning and rebuying everything.
It happens whenever you have a "get something free if you spend a certain amount" deal, whether it be savings or free shipping or free stuff. I usually have to add some little things to get to a certain amount. Nothing new really. No matter what the amount needed is, someone is always going to run a chance of falling just below the needed amount.
Cool story bro..........wait, no it's not. Mathematics is good, only if you use it. Damn you H@sbRO, educates me!!1!
wow. i wish i could get that 3 minutes of my life back. its not that hard to purchase the right amount..whats the point of this thread?
Math is hard. But I liked the story. Thought it was funny. Damn that Hasbro. This has happened to me though using online coupons. It'll say $ off a $50 or more purchase and what I want is priced at $49.99.
Am I missing something? It seems like everyone is on board with this 3 free deluxes thing and I have no idea what's going on here. Could someone fill me in?
Since they're sending us deluxes anyway, I bought 4 scouts so there's no chance of getting something I already have. (unless they send me Lockdown, the only deluxe ROTF I own)
i love how people think i can't add guys, the prices on the tags at wal-mart were $12 something for deluxe and $8.44 for scouts, person ringed them up as $9 for deluxe and $7 for scouts, so it wasn't my fault i got the wrong price, and btw i did not mean anything by the last line abou hasbro, it was a JOKE i posted the story cause i found the $24.90 part hilarious, $0.10 away, that can be very fustrating haha
This should have been mentioned in the opening post, then. It's important information that completely changes the context from "I can't add" to "retailer mix-up". There are a number of people in this fandom who seriously think Hasbro micromanage every single little detail that is even remotely connected to the Transformers brand. That makes it hard to tell sometimes when a "it's Hasbro's fault!" line is a joke or a serious comment without an emoticon or some other indication.
So you got 2 deluxes, a scout and a legend figure for less than the price you were expecting to pay for 2 deluxes and a scout. Darn Wal-mart ripoff artists! No... wait...
