if your going for the titan class\size\MP scale thing then yeah I get why peole love this option and its probably the option I would go for too if I wanted that scale, but for me I want a Predaking that scales better with my other Hasbro/ third party Combiners that I have and so Unique toys is the route I went. Bought three of them for the kids in fact right after we learned of the size

I know I’m in the minority here, but I think he emulates the animation pretty well:/ Just like the Titan Devastator somewhat did. Call of the Primitives was a fluke- People tend to forget how terrible Predaking looked in the majority of the cartoon. This is pretty good for a $150 licensed toy. He will look cool with all my other 17” Combiners.

MMC isn't the only 3rd party offering; UT currently goes for a similar price to what Hasbro's will likely go for - at a size that is consistent with the CW gestalts - while the Jinbao KO of MMC's Predaking scales well with Titan Devastator and is also at a similar price point.
Personally, I could not be happier with my Feral Rex - even though it cost more.
There are just too many things about the look of this offering from Hasbro that I don't like:
    - too blocky
    - too plain
    - waist too thin
    - no trademark Predaking knuckle spikes
    - individual Predacons compromised by combiner kibble in order to allow Razorclaw to be the same size as his troops
    - no sword

for my personal taste, feral rex is all that I ever needed, I started collecting 3rd party because of it! while this official predaking is not anywhere near what I want from a combiner, I must say I would buy this for my son, without a second thought because it is an impressive and fun toy at a kind of decent pricepoint.

My reference for predaking was more marvel UK then Sunbow although I did like predaking in Sunbow. It was cool in season three where there would be a short segment focusing on a character or characters at the end of an episode. Predaking was one such segment.

I wonder if it would be possible for 3rd parties to make add on's to make Abominus look how he did in Call of the Primatives?

FOR ME its a size issue. had devy and predaking not been so big I would have went with hasbro. but them being SOOO much bigger I had to go with third party. But , if they ever downsize the takara devastator I will / would definitely buy that.

I'm just gonna say it up and now.
I like MMC Feralcons better than HasTak Predacons.
They're basically gonna be the same size, and the Feralcons just look all to better given the context and size of these characters.
It'll be expensive as all heck, and they'll be out of scale, but it's better quality than what HasTak is giving us, and besides these guys are also gonna be outta scale.
    Well than.

Predaking looks cool, but it really bothers me that the Predacons make the dinobots look like little bitches. Predaking should have been the normal size combiner and the dinobots should have been the five badass voyagers. Oh well, I'm just thankful we got them at all.

This will probably be the first combiner I own in my collection, so I\'ll be sure to get an upgrade kit for it.

Okay, so the artwork and the pics of paint stripping have he asking: was Abominus EVER shown in the G1 animation with a white head, or was it always the same color as the chest piece?

I'm hoping for PE tbh. will get the terrorcon set nevertheless, all I need is proper feet. other Upgrades are welcome, but not necessary.

As far as I know that's the only way it was, with purple chest and head and red visor

Some times the sides and back of the head were white, but no he's never had an all white head on the US show.

What about the Japanese ones? Did he appear on there? (I've not watched Headmasters or Masterforce).
