She is a popular character who's very prominent in one of the ongoing comics, but she's hardly all that deep. And interesting is pretty subjective. She's pretty bland if you ask me. The last real arc I saw her in was her complaining about not being popular enough, despite not a single character thinking ill of her in the comic.

Also, if autocorrect was a person I would strangle it.

 

I don't feel bad for anyone. People have the option to get what they want. You want the Carnifax? Great. You want TR Overlord? Great. No need to feel sorry for anyone.

Compared to Windblade? She's Rattrap.

For everything I don't like about TR Overlord, I find just as many opposite problems in Carnifex. Neither have particularly appealing proportions. Overlord looks underdetailed, Carnifex looks over detailed. Overlord is cheaper but simple, Carnifex is more intricate but expensive.

In a perfect world I'd have a perfect medling of the two to look accurate to LSOTW/MTMTE without excessive liberties taken simply for the sake of it on a design that already had small liberties taken for the sake of adding character. It's like both figures are askew from what I want, only in different directions.

But compared to the rest of the LL crew she's blanche, devoid of any character faults, and on a ship populated with characters who are constantly bickering or at odds in some way, she just happens to be BFFs with everyone. She's never clashed with a character unless said character was indisputably in the wrong.

 

I know that feeling oh so well.

 

I think Overlord looks really, really good. For a $45 Leader, he scratches my itch. He isn't even missing any glaring paint.

Still, I will wait and see how good TakaraTomy can make him look.

 

yeah, and it kinda sucked, because basically all the combining figures had terrible proportions because of the necessity of each having to be a vehicle, a robot, a torso and pants ~ i'm talking dedicated pants and shirts here  

(i always said Energon would have worked A LOT better if the Voyagers turned into legs and torsos and the deluxes were shoulders/arms/heads)

 

This. I honestly think the $200 KO version doesn't even look like a Transformer.
I mean, he's hella cool looking and super impressive, just doesn't look "on brand" to me. Too overdone.

Also, unfortunately this.   Curious what, if any upgrades they'll do.
Better color of purple at the minimum I'd imagine.

 

So, I guess "Iron Apex" will end up being Godbomber in another set.

 

Meh, MMC's stuff is usually good but they're vastly overrated (seems a lot of people aren't happy with their Trailbreaker and Hoist).

Back on topic, I don't mind female Autobots, I mind female IDW Autobots. They generally feel flat and vapid as characters, and they're more there to make a sociopolitical statement than to actually be decent, interesting, fleshed-out characters.

Also Nautica's face is always drawn in a way that seriously dives right down into the Uncanny Valley with gusto.

 

I think Hasbro would have been better off selling Super Ginrai and Godbomber in a special 2-pack set, leaving the other figures from "Siege on Cybertron" to be sold individually.

 

How about no toy at all? Would that be preferable? Or a severely marked up 3P toy? Seems you could find better ground to stand on other than "Everybody deserves their own new individual mold always", which is what this comes off as, and isn't exactly an uncommon attitude in the fandom.

 

Reading between the lines with what John Warden (I believe) said about the clones being released, I fully expect we see two more box sets, with Iron Apex being the leader in one of them...

 

Yeah, it sucks that the Clones will be boxed set exclusives. Then again, maybe these boxes are a way to bundle characters who might not be popular enough to warrant individual releases? It's bizarrely like a BotCon boxed set in that way, but with new molds.

Also, if these sets continue in TR, and Ginrai is getting a US release, I wouldn't be shocked if Apex Bomber showed up in a future set.

 

The Cosmos is just a straight up re-release for the same price without the minicon? Lame.
