I figured there might as well be a 'Con thread to match. Any of you old timers remember who in particular seemed to sell well or be popular amonst the children that was a decepticon?

Does shackwave count? The first decepticon I saw in stores was megatron, but his price tag was intimidating as a gift for looking after my grandparents dogs. Left that store empty handed and then visited radio shack and picked up my first "transformer". That first year I'm sure lotsa kids were drawn to shacky for the same reason I was. 'Cons weren't in many stores in '84

I seem to remember the Seekers selling pretty well. I know me and all my friends I played Transformers with as a kid had at least Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker. Dirge was pretty common too.

I would think Soundwave must have been a popular seller since his cassettes were still sold into 1988 (two years past Soundwave himself stopped shipping).

Constructicons or the Cassettes. I even knew a kid who had Laserbeak (and Frenzy) but not Soundwave.

Soundwave, Starscream and the grey "Shackwave" that was sold everywhere in '84. Megatron vanished from the shelves after Christmas '84.

Soundwave was everywhere. I saw constructicons as well and a couple jets. Megs seemed the more rare commodity in my area due to the price I think.
