Hey I always had this question:

Are those video games named "Top Gear:something-something" related to this show or are they separate things?

    I doubt they are.

I don't get to watch TG that much, but when i do, they always make me chuckle.
and they earn serious cred with me when it comes to reviews of sports cars; just because it costs more than a 3 story house doesn't mean it cannot suck.
    and they will say that.

I also like it when they let celebs race cars for the shot at being the fastest in a POS.

Just yesterday I was watching the Top Gear special, where Clarkson, May and Hammond were challenged to bike across the length of Vietnam... Had absolutely nothnig to do with cars, just an excuse to have the three of them bickering in another country! :p

And that's one of the best thnigs about the show, the presenters will argue with each other over their preferences for cars. They're very opinionated about them, and they're not afraid to let it be said.

That, and The Stig is awesome. ^^

I always thought Top Gear was a niche British show, but wow, seems popular across the pond too. It's a great show and I love it.
Over here I find alot of stuck up people complain how its not serious and doesn't review realistic cars. These people don't seem to understand new Top Gear. It's about a group of grown men reviewing (messing about in) cars that appeal to the viewers innner child. Do you guys either think like this/know people who don't like the show for being a bit childish?

They also don't seem to understand that that format has been done before, and found lacking. Old Top Gear died on it's arse in the ratings doing exactly that sort of dull material. In the age of the internet, where you can find out everyone's opinions on a car in a couple of minutes, what's the point in having a show dedicated to reviewing normal cars? If you want serious reviews of the new Ford Fiesta, Google. If you want to find out if the new Ford Fiesta will be any use when you're being chased round a shopping centre by baddies in a Corvette, watch Top Gear.

I've watched it from the first season of the new series, and watched almost all the episodes since then. It's a hilarious show, but they can get overboard a bit. I think the show was at peak at around halfway in its history, when they had better balance of actual car reviews and silly challenges. But I watch it as a comedy show more than a serious car show, so it's allllll good.

The cinemaphotography is unparalleled, and so is the music selection and editing. BBC poured money into this programme, and it clearly shows.
