So...what's in your Top Five? Here's mine:
    1. Leader Sentinel Prime- great robot and truck mode, good weapon, and a lot of movie accuracy.
    2. Ultimate Optimus Prime. Because he's big. And has a trailer.
    3. The Human Alliance Basics. Lots of play value, and little action figures to boot!
    4. Wheeljack- forgot about him when I first made the list. Great homage and a great remold.
    5. DOTM Topsin. A decent transformation, and lots of fun weapons.

Honorable repaint mentions: Spacecase and Cyberfire Bumblebee.

    In no particular order.

    PE SFX
    Prime Bulkhead
    MP Hotrod with Targetmaster
All things Classics, I love em all and even the "misses" are enjoyable.

I would love to add Herc bots and Insecticons but alas they have not arrived yet :(

Most anticipated presumed figure of 2012? FOC Bruticus or any Habsro "REAL" combiners.

    1)MP9V2.
    2)Generations Scourge
    3)Generations Wheeljack
    4)Stiker Optimus
    5)Generations Sky Shadow.

Almost no movie toys on that list, and the only one that is, is a Takara item. It's not that
i'm anti movie by any means, it's just that this year there was a combination of dejavu and apparent corner cutting on the DOTM line that left most of it feeling a bit 'meh'. Nevermind the absence of Mirage.

Perhaps MP10 deserves some sort of honourable mention...but i go back and forth on that one every time i think about it.

Is this list just for "official" product, or are 3rd party figs included as well? Honestly, absolutely NOTHING from the DOTM line really blew me away, or even slightly impressed me. Having a Leader Ironhide was nice, but the figure itself needs a lot of improvement. Takara Jetwing Prime was really the best of the bunch. Trailer or no trailer, Ultimate Prime is C-R-A-P. Truth be told, 2011 was THE year of 3rd party product (and 2012 is shaping up to be the same way), as they outshone "official" product in almost every facet.

    (in no particular order)

    1. The Hercules set (minus Heavy Labor for the QC issues)
    2. FP Insecticons
    3. iGear MP Coneheads
    4. Generations Warpath
    5. Generations Sky/Black Shadow

I have no order in my top five:

Generations Wheeljack (he's a superb retool and looks totally different compared to the original use of the mold, RTS Tracks)

TFP First Edition deluxe Starscream (a very screen-accurate figure who also happens to mass shift! He also has plenty of good articulation)

Generations Sky Shadow (a badass looking figure with a awsome paint job)

RTS Lugnut (an amazingly articulated figure who has a unique transformation for a plane)

RTS Cyclonus (He's the most G1 cartoon accurate figure and use of the mold so far and the mold is marvelous, especially in this version!)

    DotM Thundercracker
    DotM Space Case
    DotM Cyberverse Hatchet
    Reveal the Shield Lugnut
    Generations Warpath.

In no particular order. I haven't gotten much from the DotM line, but everything I have gotten has pleased me immensely.

YESSS. The year in reflection. Here are my top 5 worded a little differently for fun:

MVP (best figure of the year) - TRU Masterpiece Hot Rod
Rookie of the Year (new mold, new character) - Cyberverse Hatchet
Defensive Player of the Year (underrated figure that you have to defend) - DOTM Leader Bumblebee
Sixth Man of the Year (it's certainly not the best, but it's there) - SDCC Deluxe Prime Prime
Most Improved Player (a figure we've seen before, but this time it's better) - MP-10

    In very specific order:

    1. Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. Wanted it for so long and totally worth the wait.

    2. Classics Tracks

    3. Classics Scourge

    4. RTS Lugnut. Took forever to finally track this bastard down, but he was definitely worth it.

    4. Classics Thundercracker. Possibly my favorite repaint ever.

    1) Striker Optimus Prime
    2) Prime Starscream
    3) Prime Bumblebee
    4) DOTM Darksteel
    5) Prime Deluxe Optimus Prime

Notice that only one DOTM figure made my list, and there's obviously a reason for that. 95% of the DOTM product this year was lazy, lazy, lazy. Did I say lazy? Thankfully Takara direct and Tformers: Prime swooped in at the zero hour to save the day though, because both put out superior product to anything DOTM did. Kind of a shame too, because DOTM was a great movie and deserved a better toyline. Hope Hasbro learns from its mistakes and goes full bore, full on nutty with Prime in 2012!!

    1. TFC Hercules

    2. MP 9
    3. United Wheeljack/Tracks
    4. United Darkside Optimus/Megatron
    5. Leader Sentinel Prime

Hercules a no contest for me :)  A toy that is basically same size as Victory saber the 2nd largest official transformer ever, but has great articulation, loads of details and at the end of the day can be seperated to form 6 awesome figures which on their own are worth every penny.

These third party companies say the toys they make are NOT Transformers, so technically speaking no. If they are not Transformers, they couldn't be in a Top Five Transformers of the Year list.

    2. mp roddy (like both the takara and hasbro one pretty equally)
    3. rts wreck-gar
    4. generations sky shadow
    5. pcc heavytread

pcc heavytread was my surprise wtf toy of the year. going by how much I hated early pcc sets I was reluctant to buy him for $5, but I did anyway. got a few more pcc's after that on black friday sales cause he made me take another look at the line.
