I could never use a TF collectable for such purposes. Besides, I've got copies of TFTM from around the world, even a Japanese Laserdisc that has no English soundtrack. My TFTM collection is a collection within my collection. :D

Keep it and watch the interviews on it. Also, for when I want to see Hot Rod not look pink.

People really seem to believe that the Rhino DVD has no value at all now that the Sony DVD set has come out. It's sad to see something so treasured for so long just cast aside like used garbage after so many years of faithful service.

Or you could, you know, put in the Fullscreen version of the Sony one, which is darker than the widescreen version. The image quality of the Rhino one is ass, always was. I might set it on fire and then put the burned disc on ebay.

    AFA Grading :confused2

Wow dude you make it sound like people are putting old Yeller down.

Im going to keep both copies of the film. I rarely watch the Rhino version and Ive had the Sony release for a week now and I have yet to open it. Id like to watch it with my girlfriend first, but I think she's already bought the Sony release and watched it.

Don't really see the need to buy the new one since I already have the old DVD. It's not something I watch a ton.

If you have a regular TV it doesn't look that bad. Other than the one scene with a little glitch in it.

I've watched it on a 36 inch regular tv for years. I was never satisfied with the quality, especially the entire scene on junkion where it switches to poor vhs quality. Not that I plan on ever watching a fullscreen version again.

IMO, the image quality between the 2 versions is still a point of contention. It's nice to have "widescreen" and the correct colors, but the Sony version has an enormous amount of artifacting, particularly in the Megatron reformatting scene. The Rhino version is far better in that regard. Also, the Sony version's fullscreen presentation isn't color-corrected.

I appreciate the amount of work Joe and company put into the Sony set, but I still don't feel like I have the comprehensive TFTM DVD. Therefore, I will keep them both.

I'll hold onto mine till I find a needy person (coworker perhaps) to bestow it upon.
