Minor/Repaint: Toon Colors Optimus Prime

    I had been looking for someone who had made a cast of the IPOD Convoy head
    but was unsuccessful. So I just took the head off of a dollar store knock-off and re sculpted the mouth plate. I had always wanted a toon accurate Prime, so this is what I came up with.

    Beautiful! Simple, yet very nicely executed. That really looks great! Can the head still flip in for truck mode, or do you have to remove it?

    i like it!, it's nice.

    Why don't you try the same with a classics optimus prime? it would be just as nice. and the head is pretty decent.

    dude that rocks looks much better than i would have thunk it would lol. anyways which knockoff did it come on at the dollar store? i love what you did there. the only thing i would change is i would use white backed labels instead of silver ones

    I think it was called a "transformatrix". I haven't seen em' in a while, but I bought a half dozen or so just for customizing.

    I love seeing people customizing G1 figures. We don't see it nearly often enough.

    that's very nice looking with the new paint job

    did you know that with a bit of work and a dremil its entirely possible to swap out g1primes upper legs with g1 silverbolts multi hinged/ jointed upper legs

    if its done just right prime gets full posibility from the waist down

    i don't know if i'm remembering this right but i think it was the late tfmaster that pulled off that custom mod back in the day

    I had heard that, but I'm not sure how to pull it off. If anyone knows how, I'd live to try it.

    The gun came out of the same KO that the head did. I think it was called a "transformatrix". The post on the gun is a perfect match for the G1 prime hands, but I cut it off and shaved down the handle on it for my "toon" version. I can get an alt mode pic up tonight.

    This custom really surprised me how well it's turned out :)  You've done a nice job on this guy :thumb  I'm glad to see someone taking some of those Dollar Tree KOs and using them for some Prime things :)  (I've used them as parts for various things myself)

    QFT.

    We have been seeing a nice, little influx of some G1 customs though :)
