Tool Use Found in Octopuses | Wired Science | Wired.com
I lol'd when I saw the video of the octopus walking in the shell.
That's pretty awesome.
Holy shit. Time to nuke the ocean!
I for one welcome our new cephalopod overlords.
That's just so wrong looking when it's running/skirting away in the coconut shell, looks like something out a cartoon
When the humans are extinct I expect our eight legged friend to rule the earth. Of course they still have to learn how to walk on land first, otherwise they are just about there.
I must admit, I lol'd really hard when it started tip-toe running with the shell. Then I got scared. Very scared. Then I decided I would welcome our new rulers and offer myself to them to have their way with me as they would please. Perhaps as a sex slave, or an assassin. Anything to serve our coming masters.
Octopi, intelligent and delicious.
Breathing on land might also be an issue.
I can't see how this is good news.
With all this intelligence, soon they'll work out how to work together and fight back against Mankind. All those calimari, squid and Octopus I've ever eaten... they'll be coming for me. With their suckers and pointy beaks...
I'm scared. Hold me.
"Ia Ia Cthulhu Fghtan!"
And who says they need to walk on land? They'll use their advanced coconut technology to melt the polar ice caps and submerge our landy world returning it to their domain of the deep to rule once more.
I am reminded of Dethklok's "Go Into the Water."
I'm quite amazed by this! I always knew there was something special about octopi.
This is just another clue that Cthulhu is out there, awaiting for the stars to align! Ia! Ia!
They will just modify diving equipment. I won't put it past our future overlords.
*points to octopus* He'll hold you.
Hmm, when I read the thread title I assumed there were octopi running around with wrenches and hammers in the ocean...too bad.
So the reason we can't find live Giant Squid is because their messing with us?
Embrace our new overlords.
Kthulu is proud.
