Cussing is so commonplace in our society today we can't control it we should just get rid of the fcc anyways it's not the fucking 50s anymore people say what the fuck they want and get away with it anyways if I had kids and if they cussed I wouldn't care I did as a kid lots got my ass beat but it didn't stop me so to me people need to nut the fuck up or shut the fuck up

 

I was trying to make a point about the ridiculousness of complaining about cussing in a movie series that was never kid friendly  
There are far more relevant things to debate about, like Grand Canyon sized plot holes  

 

10 years. We should know by now that these films have a lot of cursing in them   

But cursing makes these films realistic in a way.

In real life would we be happy and friendly during a alien robot invasion?

I love how this thread is causing the same behavior someone compared the Bay films to - people just cussing nonstop in their posts just because they can.   I'm amused.

 

Even I had to admit that the swearing wasn't exactly needed as much In this movie. There's realism and then there's just trying to sound cool..which this movie was making a desperate attempt at coolness;trying to be lots of things but nothing at all. Certain lines just didn't sit right. Squeaks going 'ah, shit" when the decepticons discovered him is fine. But saying "fuuuuuck you!" to a gun torrent is...cringe at best.

I'm stunned by the Chicago argument in this thread XD you all are arguing what is or isn't and it's only because of the lazy ass decisions they made with TLK. Here's the FACTS:

1. DOTM Chicago is destroyed. Given the destruction seemed to stretch a little away from the city we can assume some residential area(s) also got hit.
2. AOE (much to my own criticism) shows Chicago completely rebuilt and populated like nothing ever happened and it's even where KSI is able to set up shop.
3. TLK shows Chicago with partial damage and, for some reason, unpopulated. This should have been the move made for AOE in regards to the Illinois city and had KSI take place somewhere in the south or something.
4. Izzy says, and I quote: "decepticon fired a rocket. Parents were home, I wasn't. No way I was going to foster". This is probably the most vague backstory I've ever heard lol. Sure, this could've been during the Chicago attack or it could be during a cybertronian 1v1 between AOE and TLK and they ended up as collateral damage. Will we ever no? Nope. Thank the film makers.

No, I curse all the time so I don't care LMAO. Plus one of the best lines from the movie verse is full of curses.

What I don't like about TLK is how they made it have an overall childish appeal unlike the previous four, yet had a ton more cursing than the others. It's so contradictory, it annoyed me. Just lose the kiddy appeal anyway, no one wanted that in the other four films.

Exactly. In real life, many people say "fuck this, fuck that" in every other sentence. R rated movies capture this nicely. In real life, during an alien invasion, there would be massive amounts of vulgarity.

I'm sorry but there is so much wrong with this. It really IS that common in daily speech. Izzy isn't a little kid, she's 15 years old. They did not curse 50 times. Thread closed. Pointless thread is pointless.

 

The violence was pretty typical for a PG-13 movie, but the profanity was excessive. Frankly should have been R just for profanity.

The bad language is near constant. I stopped counting after the first hour.

 

The more they say it, the less meaning it has. Which is frankly a good thing. The idea that some words are "bad" is fucking stupid. They're just exclamations and adjectives most of the time.

That's not how R ratings work, you get a 2 f-bomb leeway, after that then it's an R (unless you can make a convincing arguments for staying Pg-13
