When we first see the Wreckers, Roadbuster says: "You're gonna risk the lives of all me mates. I'LL BOWL YA!" I know this kinda isn't a Transformers-related question (waters're reeeeeally murky), but what is "bowling", in a derogatory regard?

That is, if the term even exists in that context over there.

It was, "I'LL BOTTLE YA!", as in, use a beer bottle as a weapon on someone's head :)

I have a question as well. Do the Scots watch a lot of NASCAR then?

Oh snap! NOW I can hear it! That makes a LOT more sense (though I guess he's not too fancy on pronouncing the 't's, eh)! Nice, thank ye much!

I'm not convinced the scots are into Nascar, at all.

It was probably just to have a bit of variety. Imagine if the voice that came out was proper "hicky" like, there would have been racism claims galore!

Fuckin 'a. I wanted the redneck accents, but I'm sure there would be some bullshit complaining. Though the UK ones weren't terrible, especially Roadbuster's

I ALMOST spit out my soda on my screen, :lol .

Hey, us Southerns MISS the ol' G1 Ironhide and the other Southern-sounding Transformes... it takes a LOT to offend a Southerner. When I heard their (Wreckers) voices in the movie I was taken aback a little thinking they SHOULD have had Southern accents, or at least ONE of them. Though Leadfoot looks like he had a beer gut! ;P

Most non-TF people who went to see the movie wondered why the hell they talked "British".

I've always found voices, such as a typical "black guy" or "redneck" accent to be a nod to the people rather than an attack on them.

If the twin's were eating chicken and rice and the wrecker's were having it away with their own brethren (providing they even had redneck accents) then I would be like "oh dear that's a bit far..."

Because there is more than one accent/language in the world than American.

I think it was moreso because of the NASCAR forms, but it was never very clear. They didn't seem to have a problem with WheeljaQ. Or Ironhide, for that matter.

Ironhide get's away with it because he is a MEATHEAD :)  WheeljaQ, for the inventor that he is, should never have looked like Einstein, especially as they say in DoTM that Sentinel Prime was the Einstein of their race!

The accents could have something to do with the fact that the Wrecker concept has such a strong connection to the UK comics. That's if the writers actually gave enough of a crap about TF history to pay attention to that kind of thing...

But if anyone is missing redneck accents, there's always Cars 2. Mater has enough redneck for an entire fleet of talking vehicles.
