Unfortunately, the only figure worth anything in the boxed set is the Scourge. I ended up selling my set for around $200. That was a few months ago, however. There just isn't much of a market for the 2009 set versus 2008 or 2007. Heck, 2006 sells better too. Last year's set is very akin to FB's 2005 set in terms of desirability and availability. Too many sets floating around with very little interest.

Hopefully this year's set gets just as cheap. No way G2 is any more popular than obscure G1 characters like Thunderclash and Banzai-Tron, combined with popular ones like Kup and Scourge.

I'm somewhat torn on this. From a buyer's perspective, it's great. The lower, the better. But I understand how the lower prices can really hurt the resale value for future sellers. Not everyone that sells his or her set is trying to make an obscene profit. For whatever, some people (like myself) couldn't keep their boxsets. That said, most would be happy breaking even. I don't think that has been the case for the 2009 set. I know I certainly took a loss when I sold my boxed set + leozack.

If I had to choose, though, I would prefer this over the disgusting markups of the 2006-2008 sets. Some of those prices are unreal.

I'm glad I skipped the loose set last year. I would have lost money on it. I don't see that happening again this year, with better molds.

Yeah, I think the mold choices for the 2009 set did not sit well with the fans. The Classics/Universe molds generally sell better. This year's set is full of them.
