I don't have anything against Female Bots, but I personally dislike Arcee.
And, it makes you wonder how you get Female Bots......very interesting.

As for Devastator, the balls were......a chuckle, but they weren't necessary.

Because I'm cool with Arcee and other fembots

But I'm not down with Terminatrixes and other human-morphing-robots

This is how I’d explain it as well. Between themselves Transformers probably have a gender neutral term to refer to each other. But when using human language they would have to use either male or female terms. This combined with there choice of voice and body shape would lead to humans seeing them as male or female, but between themselves there all just fellow Transformers.

I never had a problem with the female bots, but I don't like Devastator's balls.

 

I'm all for fembots, and personally subscribe to the idea that some Transformers have masculine programming and others feminine programming. My theories about robot reproduction I've already expressed elsewhere on the forum; I don't think I need to repeat them here. Thought that Devastator's balls were mildly amusing at best and utterly stupid at worst.

Ummm i don't think they did as far as calling them "her" or "she".

 

Females didn't bother me. Balls didn't bother me. Females WITH balls...that would bother me.

 

I think the only problem I had with Fembots being in the Sequel (.I.E, Arcee) was the fact that she was going to be a Motorcycle, despite the fact at her concept art depitcted her that way when she was originally going to be used for the first film. Thinking back on it now, I have no idea why I complained about it, but I guess I was just stuck on her awesome "Pink Barbie Car" Alt. mode from G1  .

 

Chromia toy has become a shelf warmer so maybe there will be no more female robots in tf3.

 

IMO thats got more to do with the poor toy and lack of movie screen time than being a fembot.

 

Yep, i love me some Fembots so I just bought Chromia and she is quite a shitty toy.

 

i respect the fembots cause there not alot fembots around so yeah but see it like this 3 fembots in ROTF is a great prestation i think Alice doesnt count

 

I don't see fembots as a problem. They have been around forever and it's just something you don't think about too much like why do some robots have an animal mode instead of a humanoid mode. Or why does Shockwave have one eye when the other robots had two eyes.

The balls, ugh a bad joke but there have been far too much made over a small joke.

 

As a girl myself, i always welcome more female TFs. It's cool to have a few fembots in an otherwise male cast.

Devs' balls? Just something for comedy, not meant to raise questions seriously about TFs' sexuality.

 

So can you tell me that those balls served some kind of reproductive purpose or were they merely a sight gag based on the fact that the thing was made of construction machinery in which wrecking balls have some kind of context thus making the joke work?

Cuz if it's the latter then the fembots are still a dumb idea made all the dumber by the lack of development or explanation on the filmakers part.

 

I always figured that robot females just... existed the same way MALE ROBOTS do.

They're alien cartoon characters anyway just it's not like we know about TRANSFORMERS BIOLOGY or something.
