Or should I say people who work in at Disneyland and surrounding area....thanks!

Got back on Monday from a 6 day trip to Anaheim with the family and had a great time. It is funny how the time flys when you are down there and looking back, I can't even remember what we did day to day, but it was well worth it. Honestly I could live there, (Disneyland, that is, not Anaheim) if they would let me.

A few ups and downs over the trip:
    Ups,

    - The weather was superb, very nice; maybe a little to hot, but with all the a/c in the various buildings was easily managed.

    - Both parks were busy, but the amount of people was likely small compared to the usual summer crowd. We spent very little time in line and were able to hit a bunch of rides a few times over. Best ride, Indian Jones and Pirates, worst ride- The sun wheel at California adventure…If you get motion sickness, do not go on.

    - Hotel was close by to great restaurants and the park entrance. Had a nice pool with a (small) water park for the kids, very good for the hot-ass afternoons...

    - My kids wanted to meet many of the characters and aside for a few snubs...(looking at you Cinderella....) they were very accommodating with pics and such.

    - Jack-in-the-box and Carls Jr. Both are something special and I wish that a Canadian company would picks these franchise up...

    Downs,

    - It was to be expected, but the cost for food and drink was really high in the park. Water was $2.75 and food was around the same for a small snack. Again to be expected, but when you pay so much to get in, it would be nice if they priced the odd thing (water) a little lower...

    - Cell phones…everywhere. Call me old fashion, but when you get off splash mountain, is it at all necessary to for you and all your friends to check you cell phones? Jesus, can we not just put them down for a day. I am starting to have a deep hatred for cell phones and this did not help it.

    - McDonalds...there is a Mcds right beside our hotel and although we could have chosen to go else where, it was still close by. I would be happy to not eat at McDonalds for a good ling time. There were two awesome family restaurants just outside the park (Mimi’s Cafe and Millies Bakery) both well priced and hade great food. Should have gone there more...

    - Sizing of the rides, I completely understand the liability that Disney faces if a child was injured on a ride, but my daughter was upset that she was not able to some of the smaller less crazy rides due to her size. She is 4 years old, but just small for her size. Most of the rides required the rider to be 40", she is likely 39 1/2". I guess better safe than sorry, but it is hard to tell a 4 year old that....

    - The state of toy collecting in that area is terrible. I went to 3 Targets, 1 Wal-Mart, 1 KB Toys (which sucked more than I thought it would) and a Toys R us and found 4 (in total) Deluxe figures (3 Repaint Jazz and in a surprising twist a 08 BB) I bought 3 of the four, no voyager class, 3 Leader class Brawl, (bought 1) and a few Ultimate BB. I did not see any 25th ann Joe figures, nor any alternators. It was a big disappointment for me, but the fact that my son was able to get a 08 Bumble Bee in a place with nothing else but some real gears figures it was nothing short of brilliant luck. It is stuff like that makes me love collecting toys.

    Here are a few pics:

The CARS Guys were cool, apparently they move their eyes and talk,

Over all it was an awesome trip and we are sad to be home…

Glad you had a good time TJ. We went in July and had so much fun, even though it was so friggin' hot they ran out of bottled water, seriously. The "Super Fast Passes" we got took the edge off. And everyone who goes is required to do this photo.

I've never been to Disneyland, but have been to DisneyWorld. Love it! I've been there a few times and everytime is exciting. In fact, I can't wait to go back.

    Undoubtedly. :p

But I'm glad you went to Disneyland. I've only been to Disney World once, so I've never really had a chance to go to Disneyland.

Why are only Americans allowed to read this thread? Do you think people from other countries don't have family vacations?

We really want to go to disneyworld, eventually. I doN't think that there are any direct flights from Calgary, so it would be more expensive and we would need a longer time frame...but certianly on the short list of places to go.

Belle was hot. I wanted to get a pic with her but figured that would be bordering on creepy.

I love the fact that pscoop is also rocking the Transformers shirt. :lol

Glad you enjoyed the trip. Good looking family.
Where did you get the shirt for your son? Looks awesome.

Belle is hot, but I've seen hot chicks before.
That life size Lightning McQueen is AWESOME!

Been to Disneyland, but I was too young for any memories to set in. Won an all expenses paid trip to Disneyworld through my dad's work when I was a bit older so I remember that. I preferred MGM and Epcot (yes you read that right) sections to the main Disney stuff.

Sweet! I'm glad you had fun at disneyland.. feels weird to read about a trip to your hometown..

wow. they have a live star wars thing there now huh? cool!

Even cooler your kid gets to be part of the action!

I don't agree with your last "down" though.. finding an 08 bee rocks!
