It looks really good but I can't recall the last time there was good gameplay in a wresting game.

I'm excited about it. I heard that they will at least try to have gameplay similar to No Mercy. Plus Joe and AJ know their games. They could still mess it up though

I saw TNA in the title then was greatly disappointed in what the thread was about. :(

I actually have that cartridge sitting around somewhere. Plus WWF Wrestlemania 2000.

If it is like the N64 wrestling games by THQ and AKI (except WCW Nitro) then I may just buy it. I don't watch wrestling any more but the old N64 games were great. Throw in a create-a-wrestler that you can create 50+ and I will be thrilled. I still have the THQ WCW and WWF (before the name change) games with the boxes. I haven't played a wrestling game since WWF No Mercy that I liked.

Also while we are talking about wrestling games, there was a rumor awhile back over at 1UP.com that No Mercy would be updated with a new roster and released as a WiiWare download sometime this year.

Some of those moves looked pretty sweet.

Anything to prevent a network 'wrestling' monopoly. That and TNA sometimes is getting to the quality of WCW.

I agree with Gryph. none of the wrestling games on N64 were better than no mercy.

No Mercy used the engine that debuted in WCW/nWo Revenge so actually both are right.

Rumor has it Nintendo is working with THQ to do an Updated Roster version of No Mercy (Including Classic Superstars) as a downloadable game for the Wii

Actualy the first game with that engine was WCW vs. nWo: World Tour.

That would be awesome if they did release an updated No Mercy I would buy a Wii for that in a heart beat.

Technically it debuted with Virtual Pro Wrestling 64. VPW64 was edited into WCW vs NWO: World Tour. After that, they made Revenge. After Revenge, they made Wrestlemania 2000. WM2000 was mostly just Revenge with different textures (stone cold had DDP's move set from Revenge, for instance) and a real create a wrestler mode. Next came Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. Then the last game to use the engine was No Mercy.

Personally, No Mercy's PPV and branching Story mode shoot it straight to the top. Also the ability to win titles and defend them whenever you wanted was awesome. It pisses me off that those things have all been removed from every game after it.

I stand corrected, I do remember World Tour. If I remember right it was not as polished as Revenge was.

you remember corectly it's no where near as polished as revenge, witch in turn is crap compared to No Mercy.
