Hey guys, after years and years and years, I have rediscovered the TMNT and all of their awesomeness. I've been watching the original animated series, am currently watching the 2003 series and watching the movies. Just bought Vol. 1 of the IDW Turtles and I bought the Ultimate Collection Vol. 1 (they're in the mail and on their way). Any recommendations for what I should read next would be most appreciated.

I know it isnt a popular opinion, but i think Image's run of TMNT is really good. The turtles actually got hurt in that series.

the original Mirage stuff is excellent. I was first exposed to Ninja Turtles through the toys/orig. cartoon. When I first saw the Mirage comics my mind was blown...

I cannot wait to see IDW reprint the Archie comics in TPB form. Stoked.

Good time to be a TMNT fan! Got the 100 page spectacular which reprints the Archie books. For issue 9 which also came out today. And then I got Ultimate Collection Volume 2 in the mail 2 days ago.

Don't get too excited - the first TPB of the Archie series reprints... issues #1-4. That's it. So anyone hoping for Transformers-esque 12-13 issue volumes is going to be disappointed.

Didn't bother me. Because it was only issues 1 - 4 from Archie the entire 100 page book only came up to $7.99 as opposed to the $20 - $50 I've dropped on collective works before. Especially since this came out right after I bought the more expensive Ultimate Collection Volume 2.

Here's hoping they continue with their collections. I want the later Archie TMNT books the most, after it broke away from telling stories similar to the cartoon.

If you can find the old Return to New York trilogy, you won't be disappointed. Also the preceding Return of Shredder.

Oh shit, and also, if you can find the Mirage trilogy "The River". That was an awesome story.

Anyone else pick up TMNT: Color Classics #1 today? I did. And it looks good in color. But... I'm not sure how I feel about this series. Sure, buying all these issues one at a time with color would be sweet, but I just bought the first 11 issues and the micro issues all together in Volume 1 and 2 of the black and white Ultimate Collections. So, it seems redundant to buy them twice.
