ROTF Megatron is still my favorite, and I'm sure a lot of other fans share that opinion, although that is no way a dig at his TLK design. Honestly, I've enjoyed all of Megatron's designs in the films, although the TF1 look was a tad too skinny for me in spots, and DOTM's chest was maybe too round. DOTM is great for me because, even if this is a bit of an over simplification, it's still pretty much the ROTF design, just with truck parts.

His newest design is shaping up to be my second favorite, which is where DOTM was. I'll have to see it in action first though, and give it some time as I've had a lot of time to look at his first 3 designs.

Cool, personally out of the first three; TF1 is more my flavour, he just looks so much more slender and strong.

Aww good. They added the diamond on his forehead which was on his crown in the first 3.

 

Well, it's not a official render or anything, but I tried to recreate his jet mode.

 

The more I look at that picture of TLK Megatron, the more I think that if they made the top of his head just a little more square, you could pull making it look enough like the G1 Helmet.

It appears his chin guard is divided into four sections rather than two. That should work out better for his faceplate I think.

Anyone else notice the slight eyebrow twitch of curiosity from Megatron, as he was studying Squeeks? It's subtle, but I love little details like that.

 

It makes me think he's more amused than aggressive in this scene

The forehead triangles, the helmet face guards - even the long pointed chin, all have canon roots.
