Well that admittedly is pretty cool but you did note that we haven't gotten it at a voyager scale so still, it would've made more sense to give him that since it'd be something small but new over just recoloring Hound's gun and calling it a day.

True, but then that would mean a new mold, which means spending more money on production. Meanwhile, the mold for the quad-barrel shotgun already exists, so money saved on Takara's part.

If you're looking for a way to get a Voyager sized version of the tri-barrel shotgun, Ariel Lemon on shapeways and Dr. Wu both made their own, but neither come painted - Ariel Lemon's has better detail, but the smoother material costs more; Dr Wu's is available in basic plastic colors and is made of ABS, but is pretty fragile in certain areas.

To be fair, I get why they did it. After all, it's just a small bonus piece for those who have decided to spend this amount on the toys and they obviously don't want to spend that much but even so, it seems like such a missed opportunity and if the gun in the film is like this too? Man did TLK get lazy with some of the designs.

As for the third party options? As nice as they are, it still would be cool if we got an official release like maybe it's included with a rerelease of one of the voyagers or just as a bonus whereas with this it still doesn't really work though I can't get too upset about it due to the nature of it.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to give Prime a toy based on that gun.

I'm surprised they didn't do one for Caliber Optimus Prime. The Energon sword with the initial run, then the chromed versions of his normal weapons, but not the gun?

Wow. So gundam markers make good touch up or paint chipping fixers?

The gray plastic on the limited gun appears to be darker than Hound's. Of course we need a side by side comparison to confirm this.
