Ballpoint pens ink barrels are a good cheap source for plastic tubes & come in a variety of diameters. So, couple a small barrel with with a hot pin perforated larger diameter barrel & you've got a cheap solution, that'll cost you around 3 bucks & an afternoon.

It's funny that you mentioned these mods. I was just thinking today before I read your posts about figuring out a way to add the guns to his shield and and ankle tilts to his feet. I think I've got the gun figured out, but the ankle tilts are a bit more elusive. I'm curious to see what you come up with.

Thanks for that ingenious suggestion, Closetrat! I was pondering of that route would be best for me, until I came across this!

CW Swindle's weapon! I'll size it up to the shield tomorrow and see how it looks.

Luke, I want him to have at least the ability to tilt his feet sideways. It will mostly become a "Frankenstein-style" surgery, but I'm tackling the shield mod first.

That looks awesome! It doesn't seem to be too big that it impedes on the 5mm port and peg. Nicely done good sir! Nicely done.

I have currently scrapped my initial idea (slide out gun barrels.) for his tri-barreled gun. I am going to attempt something a little more ambitious.

Thanks Closetrat! Wayne's World is a classic.

Luke, definitely share photos your work when you can!

Prime doesn't look too shabby with some of his AoE buddies!

I have cut my shield in half so that it can split to reveal the gun components.

Now I am on the search for functioning joints that will allow the shield to open and close.
I am going to see if I can get the barrels to slide out as well. Then I will use magnets to attach it to his arm. Hopefully I can get it to function how I'm imaging.

(Pictures have been moved to my own thread.)

Maybe there are some mechtech weapons you can leverage for it to open and close!

That's what I was hoping for. I'm checking out 2007 Leader Megatrons little gun claws things. If that won't work I'll be looking at mech techs and other joints. I was also thinking of using magnets to slap the shield together....
Also, maybe I should start my own thread for this instead of using up yours. Sorry about that!

Holy... that's amazing. What difference it makes with a better paintjob.

A good paint job does this mold well deserved justice! It looks terrible in package!

    Thank you for the compliment!

Imagine if Prime had a decent paint job in package... would it be worth $30?

    20170512_133851.jpg

And here he is compared to the AoE voyager... I've grown to like the new design over the previous one.

The molded "ropes" on his legs really bugged me because they split in halves when turning the thigh swivel. So...

    I fixed that on mine!

    PicsArt_05-14-04.41.25.jpg

Shaved off the molded ones using various bladed tools.
Drilled 8 holes for the new ropes/red hose things (which are just red wires).
    Repainted the thighs.
    Installed the replacements!

No more splitting apart when turning the legs left and right!

    20170512_162441.jpg

    Voila!
