I want him, but I don't have money for it
I truly appreciate that you like the work i did on the figure! Time will tell if I make another one like it, but I still have that inclination to do a TFP styled deco with this mold.
Right now I'm refining the existing mods to my stealth attack deco Bumblebee in a subtle way, hoping he sells as well.
On mine I have cut the hands off the wrists and tried the ballpoint method but my balljoints are too stiff and keep ripping through the sculpt after gluing it
Please post a photo(s) here of what you've done. I'd like to see.
I think you said you used cyberverse sideswipe for the hand ball joints correct? I don't have him and thought if other legends/cyberverse figures would work?
I used Revoltech joints for this custom' s wrists.
Are those joints something I can buy by themselves? And are they expensive?
On eBay there are various listings, mixed bags for an average of $10
Oh crap I'm sorry!! So many of these on here I must've got confused with another one. Again man my apologies. Revoltech ones aye.
I used cyberverse Sideswipe's ball joints. I think any small Cyberverse figure should work though. Though the Rolvotech ball joints are probably better.
i'm using small lego ball joints for my prime
although how do i fill in the hand?
You could build up the voids one drop at a time with superglue...
Update, so I got around to repainting my head for Optimus Prime using Dark Gloss Blue and Metallic silver. I don't know if its the lighting or I might have missed a step because he ended up being darker than the results. Still it's a bit too early to tell as he was done a couple of hours ago. Feedback is appreciated. Sorry for the q-tip. I used it so that I don't make too much of a mess with the paint.
I used 'Aves Sculpt fix-it' to fill mine in. It is a two part putty mix that acts a lot like a clay. It the hardens. Works really slick. But I've also done as Savio has with the super glue.
thanks for the help luke. i'll try them out as soon as possible!
thanks for the help savio!
hey thats pretty good dude it really matches him
Thanks! the other parts like the body are in the midst of drying off and getting the paint and thinner smell out of the garage. Once that's done I can take a look and see the final results. Keep in mind I don't plan on doing anything extreme, just enough that it looks like his render seen in TF4 and 5 without the "Quintessa Scar". The gold segments are a pain and had me huffing thinner for minutes on end just to get it right. The reason why I never tried doing this because my hand is not steady for that kind of delicate work so I end up messing up linework and accidentally putting the colors in the wrong place. This is also why I haven't picked up a Gundam model after completing one.
Does it look ok? I'm still too lazy to paint the rest of flames.
