Custom painted Drift as close to the actual cgi model paint scheme in the movie as I could.
I don’t know why the last three pics are upside down.
what happened to the alt mode pics? how come they're upside down? Nice custom though! What colours did you use?
I don’t know, I just uploaded them from my iphone direct from camera roll. Thanks! I used red and black gundam markers and tamiya acrylic metallic gray. I also used blue and white gundam markers for the eyes. I drilled the eye holes too, to make them bigger and rounder.
Help! I keep trying to reupload the car mode pics but they still keep showing up upside down. Even when I turn them upside down in the camera roll they still keeping turning up like that.
Wow, you really made this figure look sooooo much better. I like the contrasting colors here. Great job.
RE: Photos. Maybe turn your camera's auto rotate off? That way, it'll force the camera to define what's up and down. One of the four pics will be the correct one.
Thanks a lot!
I really don’t know what the deal is. I even transfered the photos from my phone to this ipad and tried uploading from here and they still turned up that way.
Isn't it obvious? Drift prefers driving upside down.
Amazing work dude! One thing I would change tho is that in the film the mini blades by his head were black with 2 red horizontal stripes. Overall though, great work! I can wait to customize this guy myself (Once one of the stores in my area gets something other than wave 1!!)
Thanks! Oh, yes, I know about the red stripes on the blade wings. There are other portions I also didn’t do too. Mostly in the car mode. Like the red trim in the back where the plate number would sit. And the red trims on the side mirrors. I’m not too confident on painting those without messing up!
Awesome work ,I wish he came painted up this nice.
I agree. This toyline is severely lacking in the paint department. And like with Drift, I think how the color scheme of the toys are based upon the boxart which are mostly like the concept art for the characters. In the boxart, Drift is mostly red, so the toy came mostly in red. The boxart model of bumblebee is also different from the CGI model in the movie.
You can get red paint markers to make the job easier It's what I do
Oh, yes. All the red and black I used here were gundam paint markers.
Rotate your photos in editor and save, then rotate them back and save again. Upload those ones and it should work. I have to do this every time I want to upload a picture I took on my phone. Very nice paint job, btw!
I have done that but they still come out upside down.
You saved them as new pictures?
In the camera roll on iphone?
I don't have an Iphone, but on my Samsung, when I take a picture that I want to upload, I immediately edit it and flip it in any direction. Then I save that one and delete the original. I edit the new picture and flip it back to the correct orientation, save, and delete the old one again. Then I upload the new picture. It has worked for me every time so far, but it might be different on an Iphone.
Read this, then use a third party editing/gallery app like quickpic or picsart to rotate them in the future. Never use Google or official based gallery apps for editing!
