It's amazing how a little paint can make this figure a lot more awesome. Just wished he had his time gun and the chest could be lifted.

I was trying to figure a way to point the hood parts on his chest forward but I don't think there is a way

I don't know HOW you did it,
but that paint job makes Hot Rod look all the more athletic and just that more sleek.
He could give Sunstreaker a run for his money because DAMN that looks good man! The highlights and that paint make his Car mode look sleek and sexy like a Lambo should look, and those bot mode mods make him looks stylish!
    Nice damn work man!
    You deserve a cookie.

I desperately want to do this too. I think if you could mount the chest pieces on some sort of hinge joint that could allow them to fold up onto the upper chest and cover part of the shoulder gaps that would work.

Unfortunately it needs some slicing due to some plastic obstructing the joint

Still thinking. I'm quite bad with blades. I fear I might destroy this figure, considering I bought him for the price of two deluxes here in my local store.

Get a dremel with a cutting attachment. They're easy to use and pretty safe.

The car mode paint could use some cleanup, but otherwise, not bad! :thumb  :)  Amazing how a few details improve the figure.

If you really want him to have his ZA WARUDO gun, you could always buy it on Shapeways, but you'd have to paint it yourself and the smoother materials are a bit more costly and fragile. I'd get it in BSF if you're worried about it breaking.
