Follow the link to an interview with TF novel writer David Cian. For those of you who don't know, he wrote the TF trilogy: Annihilation, Fusion, and Legends. He's currently getting ready to work on the prequel novel for the TF movie this summer.

Of major note, the title of the novel will be TRANSFORMERS: GHOSTS OF YESTERDAY

    Cool! :thumb

Cool, that could be an interesting read. I wonder if he might break it up into sections for each time period that the story takes place in, sort of like a collection of short stories connected by a common theme?

Two and half books makes him a legendary author in Transformers lore. I guess a case could be made since he wrote the majority of the Transformers novels currently in print but I think bit more work and more than about three years writting in that subject area are needed to be considered a legend. Not saying he isn't a talented author I just wouldn't consider him a legend just yet.

This isn't the novel trilogy based on the Dreamwave-verse, right? Because that was written by OMG PEOPLEGORE followed by one or two guys doing a fricking admirable clean-up job.

It is the DW based trillogy (and the anthology that followed it) . As you see if you read the interview David DID NOT write the first book that was so awefully written, grim and gorey, rather he was the one brought in to fix that mess and wrote the much more palatable 2nd and actually not that bad at all really 3rd volumes. As well as organized the mostly pretty decent anthology.

    I rather liked the novels.
And the comic is by IDW with DonFig on pencils duty. So it's going to be good.

So it's starting to look like i'm going to see three takes on this movie...
The movie proper (on the big screen, maybe even at midnight...),
The IDW comic (becuase it's the Don)
    The book (I'm curious).

Total agreement here, I just wanted to clarify that point. :D

This guy took a friggin trainwreck and did such a cleanup job that I actually bought book 3 almost entirely as a "Hey man, you did good" nod to him.

I know Hardwired was awful, but it did happen...

Reckon a prequel will work better in a format with art.

    LOL...Nice, thanks!

As far as the book goes, I am looking forward to it. I didn't like Hardwired, but I thought Cian did a wonderful job trying to salvage that project with the second and third installments in that set. I have Legends but haven't read any of it yet.

    More TF books FTW!
