The little white guys that come with Broadside look off. Isn't one of them supposed to be a helicopter?

Yes! Thank you! Why is the extra Firefly here? That should be AB.

Because originally the Aerialbots were all jets.

Plus inactivity isn't the only reason, sometimes the name is too generic to be copyrightable that's why they lost Hot Rod for so long.

The reissues, Botcon toy and alternate continuity reuses of the name also count.

The ony real time I'm aware of his Combiner Wars Dragstrip in that he was almost completely yellow.

That wasn't Trailbreaker. That was still the character RiD'01 Ironhide repainted in the familiar colors of G1 Trailbreaker for the nostalgia factor.

    Depends who you ask:

It's why I brought the subject up. They may basically be kids' toys, but Hasbro gives out mixed messages, claiming they're aimed at a market other than kids. Adults collect them because that's what's available and because of nostalgia, but as you say, they're made to bekids' toys even though the main demographic buying them isn't the kids.

It's more a pondering from me than an argument really.

Ah ok, I understand what you're trying to say.

However, if adult collector's were truly the main demographic, then I would think :

    - It to be an illogical move on Hasbro's part to retain Transformers retail channels at all. Collectors mostly buy online. No need for Hasbro to keep the physical retail middle man alive.
    - It to be illogical to cross-market Generations into other media as well ; comic books, videogames etc. as these reach pre-teens and teens as well. Because, if the situation were as MartyFeeb claims, then only stuff like RescueBots & RiD should receive budget to make it to these media forms.
    - It would also be illogical to retain their production lines the way they are, because if the main target consumers were adult collectors they would either downscale and upmarket production, OR they would entirely cut their own production and outsource it to a party which is already outfitted for production of collectibles.
    - And last but not least, I would seriously doubt that Titans Return would make it to market with the Titan Master wide-line gimmick at all IF the line were truly considered by Hasbro to be adult collector market. Ergo, I think they'd never launch the line with wide-line play pattern gimmick in that scenario. Way too much market research and gimmick development, makes it crystal clear to me that the line is indeed intended as toy first, collectible second place.

Just wanted to put in some clarification:
The "distribution event" wherein the latest Transformers waves were released in the Philippines was not per se a Hasbro promoted event but something more along the lines of the local distributor, Playkit Philippines, wanting to drum up interest concerning the new batch of Transformers product coming in from the regional distributor. To that effect, Playkit Philippines usually ties up with the Philippine TF fan group Cybertron Philippines to help promote these new toys.

In these "events", with the distributor's blessing as well as the support of the local toystore chains (namely Toy Kingdom and Toys 'R Us), Cybertron Philippines utilizes volunteers from its ranks to help organize and distribute the new toys via a "one-toy-per-person" policy, which ensures that, at least for the duration of that event, incidents of hoarding and toy scalping are minimized and as much collectors, fans, even regular walk in customers, go home with as much TF product as possible.

As for the recent TF waves, the latest products came as a surprise and also caught most of us here in the Philippines unawares. The distribution lists and product assortments were rushed in just the span of two days (this coming off a hectic holiday season, as well as a previous release event for the last wave of TF's), such that on the day they were released, a mix up caused the store to have an abundance of Kroks, Quakes, Bees, and PriD Grimlocks and Drifts, but with a shortage of Kups, Topspins, Perceptors, Brawns, as well as PRiD Soundwaves and Blurrs...

    jya na!
