Where does it show that gimmick? I kinda hope that those grey "shelves" in base mode, in the turquise main body, can be pulled out to store titan masters in. That would look awesome.

Had it. Sold it. A nice enough toy and a decent homage, but I never looked at it and thought, "Wow, that perfectly captures the G1 character in modern form," the way I do from looking at just the pics of this Trypticon. HasTak's gotten better at homaging G1 with its non-MP toys in general.

I don't believe any of the photos show it, but it's stated in both the original IGN article where the pictures came from and the Hasbro press release that just went up.

As I\'ve expected, Full Tilt is a headmaster.

Should I keep saving my money for this guy? Or should I just waste it on other figures?

I thought the G1 toy turned into a city and a battle station? The space ship is a development from WFC in which he's explicitly called the Nemesis. With Hasbro calling his city mode the 'Nemesis Command Base' I'm certainly taking that as reason enough to call his ship mode than in my collection.

Fantastic how evocative of the G1 toy this is. Well done!

Shame he's missing Brunt, though... Ah well, nothing that the Third Party companies can't fix (although I'm still waiting on someone to do Cog for TR Fort Max).

Also, the fact that his arms and legs can swivel outward makes him a thousand times better in my eyes.

As if the CG renders weren\'t impressive enough-those photographs with Trypticon in an action pose just have me floored. Also, looking at the concept art for this guy (and other toys recently) makes me think of how awesome a HasbroToys art book would be. Masterpiece Megs and now this in the same year? Oh my aching wallet!!

It's a gamble. He could be heavily discounted after a month or completely disappear from the shelves. Nothing wrong in waiting if you think the price is too high, but the risk is never having the figure.
Well, after seeing that Voltron all my transformers seem a lot cheaper...

I'm not impressed. For all the money and space that will need to be poured into this thing, I think the robot mode looks dorky and overloaded with tiny details (making dusting a nightmare) and only the base mode truly impresses me. I kind of like the ship mode, but both other modes seen here are probably going to still take up a lot of space and one of them isn't particularly compelling. This is coming from a guy who likes space ships.

He does, admittedly, seem a lot better than he did immediately. The added articulation, Full Tilt and base mode really add incentive to buy—just not enough.

DAUM! I was already sold on it although I was initially a little disappointed it was so close to the dated G1 look in mega-dino mode, but the new pics definitely drove it home for me. It shows that the shoulders and hips do move to spread the arms and legs and use those ankle tilts at least a little, though not much going by the pics. I do still hope it can do a cool leaning forward running pose like a T-rex chasing prey because that alone would make his chunky G1 style look less outdated.
LOVE that base and spaceship mode.
I know the G1 figure had a battle station mode instead of a ship mode but to those saying this is still a battle station and not a ship, notice the wing fins, guns facing forward, and huge cockpit. Technically anyone can call it whatever they want, including Hasbro (the guys that called TR Sixshot's gun mode a "submarine"), but that design is a ship, and it looks really cool!
