When I first saw the design sheet for Titans Return Breakaway I was ecstatic. We were finally getting a Getaway that I could put on my Lost Light shelf with the rest of the crew. I assumed that the design sheet was just some kind of draft and not the final colors, and was ultimately disappointed by the final result.

While most people chose to customize Breakaway into Getaway I decided to take the road less travelled and made this figure. It is loosely based on the Walmart exclusive of the same name. I dyed the legs dark blue to match the figures hips, I also dyed the feet and chest hinges dark gray, and the shoulder joints dark blue too. I dyed Generations Scoops hands the same shade of blue and threw them on, I wanted there to be a little variation from Chromedome aside from the head.

When I was starting out as a customizer, especially when I started experimenting with dye, I would take a part of a Transformer and dye it a different color. The challenge was to match another color on the figure without warping it and then to reassemble the figure. In the beginning I had a few misses but after a while it became like second nature.

If you're just starting out, stick with it. You'll get it. Enjoy!

If you have a Generations Scoop hanging around, it's worth it. The hands fit perfectly. Thank you!

I used Quake's. It's one of my personal favorites. It works well with just about every figure.
