I'm thinking I'm going to check out the hobby shop for some glittery-chrome-ish-like spray paint and see if I can get Clobbers alt mode to have that G1 yellow, rather than that dull mustard one. Should be easy enough to do. Everything easily pops off/on.
It's uncannily close to Cindersaur. Like, "it's got to be intentional" close. God this is going to be like customizing kreons all over again...
So yeah. Got him and Crashbash. And combined them. However, the all gray Grimlock didn't jive with me so I wound up leaving the gold neckpiece and handle, which is more G1 and adds a needed splash of color. I think it's a huge improvement. Crashbash suffers slightly, but not too bad.
The tutorial is up. here's the link: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/1082186-tutorial-titans-return-grimlock.html
Finally out! Weird that I got wave 2 first here (Leader Soundwave, Clobber, Apeface etc). He is...SMALL. I mean, I know he is LITTLE, but I didn't expect him to be THIS small. I will dub him A-doom-rable creature from now on.
That struck me when I first saw these, too. They're heads, of course, so they're going to be small, but I think these are the tiniest Transformers yet. And amazingly they somehow manage to have ball joints. The Targetmasters from the Legends sets look rather bad by comparison.
the targetmasters had to turn into shit like half-track vehicles and cameras in addition to turning into guns. the headmasters are the same transformation scheme of turning into a square with a face on it. not much competition, lol.
Indeed! Even though they are small, I'm kind of surprised and impressed that they have ball joints, and quite sturdy at that! And adorable. Can't wait until we get a deluxe sized one TR here, we only have wave 2 Legends, Heads, and Leader (Soundwave) so far.
The Targetmasters had, like, *A* transformation step. Between all three modes. Chop Shop's instructions didn't even bother telling you how to change from bug to bot because there was literally nothing to it. But, I mean, I had simply assumed that was all they could do. Between them, Cyberverse, Minicons, Kreons, Prime Laserbeak, and the Optimus that came with Stratosphere, I thought I had a handle on what miniature Transformers were capable of. Then they come up with even tinier bots with better articulation and it's just mind-blowing.
Can I do a little request? Anybody who has Clobber, can you take a pic of him using any Deluxe/Voyager body? Especially: Hardhead, Skullcruncher, Wirewolf, and Sentinel Prime (both "ears" up and down)? I'm kinda contemplating on which should I buy for now, since I'm planning to get only one (for now). And if possible, please also pic with Clobber in their alt mode (either sitting in cockpit or standing near it?
If you can wait until tomorrow, I'm planning on making a topic showcasing all my TM heads on all my bodies. Though I only have Hardhead and Skullcruncher for of those (spoiler: He looks great on both of them).
