Soooo anyone know how to mod the lion feet so they don't fall off if I breathe on them wrong?
They're friction clipped right? I think I just took mine off and coated the attachment points with some clear nail polish, let it dry, then re-attached. That will bulk up the friction thus holding them on better.
Had this guy for almost a week and overall my feeling on him is mixed. He is just okey. It's not the worst TR figure and far from it but at the same time he is far from being great.
Robot mode is neat but the huge barrel chest is strange. The head gimmick doesn't work correctly. But everything else is cool and he comes with an awesome sword. Team him up with Titan Master Lione (Sawbuck) as a shield for an awesome lion duo.
Lion mode is the worst of the 2 alt modes. From the front he is great then look at the sides and the proportion are strange and off. He has some holes in the lion torso. I understand why the chose it as an alt mode but a car could have been better to adapt to a ship.
Ship mode. It's just a basic aircraft carrier looking jet and it's not bad. It's uninspired but works.
He is the 2nd TR voyager that I own the other being Galvatron and so far both haven't amazed me.
Galvatron is ruined by the head gimmick where everything else is great.
Trion is hurt by a weird mishmash of designs and a super big burly chest for the transformers equivalent of Merlin.
Ultimately I think it comes down to the stupid gimmicks the voyagers have that are hurting them. The spring loaded head addition gimmick suck and the forcing of turning all into triple changers isn't doing good.
My eyes are on Megatron next. I hope he breaks this voyager streak of mediocre toys.
Megatron HAS, in my opinion
Hey just a word of warning if you try to mount the missile gun on top of the cockpit like in the Lio Convoy photos to be careful. The tabs on the top broke off on mine. I can still mount it on the tiny nub that's left but the connection is no longer secure. I'm probably going to go back to putting the missile gun on his rear leg again when transforming it back into lion mode.
It's a recurring opinion, but man the details on these figures are awesome, it's just missing some paint. This was just 1 layer of gunmetal grey on the deck, and it already looks so much better
I hope Hasbro releases Thundertron or something. This would look pretty nice in a more traditional deco. I love space battleship-looking alt-modes, but the pink and purple don't help it in that regard. Lio Convoy looks amazing in spaceship mode, but I'm not blowing $60 on what I consider a mediocre Voyager mold.
Got him on sale.
Holy flip, this is one of the goofiest things I've seen, and I adore it.
So, who wants to give a go at a Jaga (Thundercats) repaint of Alpha Trion? Similar characters in their respective universe... the bearded, grandfatherly, mentor to the good-guy leader trope.
There are a few cool things to work with here. TR A3 already has a nice orb on his chest, good spot for the Thundercats logo. His sword could receive the Sword of Omens treatment and a brown recolor of the blaster weapon to mimic the SoO's claw sheath. And of course the biggest part that ties it all together... the large cat alt mode.
I got this yesterday and wow the waist is bad at keeping together. And the gun missile thingy is loose in his hand. And his front right paw keeps coming off. But he's still good.
Separate names with a comma.
