Diperwave! Rapperwave! (Yo, stop! Hammer time!)   I haven't laughed this much at a thread in a long time (not including TF funnies). He's a definate pass for me. Good thing we at least got a Cybertron Soundwave update, eh?

RODIMUS IS AWESOME! They put the faction symbol back yea! I can't see if he has a spoiler though, but I think he may not due to the way his Alt mode is. That will look a little strange, but finally a good Rodimus figure! I can't wait.

 

I believe the spoiler is folded back making it harder to see. Save the picture and zoom in on the head area, you should see two very small orange parts on either side of the head, around where the red and silver paint meet. I'm guessing that is them but it could also be part of the box art, though that seems unlikely because of the positioning of the lines seem out of place with the art work. They do appear lower than they did on earlier pictures of Rodimus.

Kind of meh, on the Rodimus Prime and Soundwave alt modes looking slightly fubared, but the bot modes are decent enough, especially the Autobot Protector. Now if they can just get his nemesis Galvatron to look that good in bot mode.

 

You know, looking at Soundwave, I do kind of wonder if he's partly mistransformed in box.

Well, mine is sitting in my pile of loot at bbts. So I'll imagine he'll be hitting the shelves soon. Heck, if I see one, I may buy it. After all, nothing wrong with Scourge and a Sweep!
Now, we really need Cyclonus and Galvatron.

 

And I'm not sure it would look that much better even if it could slide up. He'd still have that big ass diaper and stumpy legs.

Oh... Wow... Me WANTY!!! Seriously, I always loved the Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime character. That to me seems like a better update than even the Classics Hot Rod.

 

You can also seem them folded together in his car mode above the cockpit.

They must not be deployed in the packaging for protection during shipping?

 

Rodimus Prime is awesome and his bio is interesting... still makes him sound like a little emo bitch though.

Soundwave... the croctch area looks ridiculous, but the rest is okay.

I'll definently be buying these guys. They both look as good as most of the best stuff released in this line so far... besides... all the Soundwave's in my collection belong to my wife.

 

They're trying to merge the original Tech Spec entry with his personality in the cartoon. So they have to have a schemer/blackmailer that is also loyal to Megatron. That said, it's not really a contradiction.

Soundwave wants to be A power behind the throne. Not the power itself. He is ultimately loyal to Megatron and the Cause, but if his subtle little manipulations increase his own prestige and power base while doing so, all the better. You see it happen in history a lot, especially in monarchies where the people believe the leader is divinely chosen.
