That is... kind of stupid. It's VERY stupid actualy, because if we find out the ship was a dinosaur robot all along then it makes you think why didn't Decepticons just use it in first place, and if the ship GETS a life that's cheesy beyond Sonic 90's cartoon levels.

It's always dumb when we find out something like that, I still hate how in TFA we find out Omega Supreme is THE war-winning device and yet nobody bothers to wake him up until it's season finale time, when they show all you need to wake him up is some Sari key action and a little Allspark power.

 

Didn't they say that using the Spark Extracter would also remove the spark from any bot in the area? So wouldn't the bot who activated it also lose their spark?

I know this has been said for nearly every episode recently, but maybe Bulkhead uses it on Trypticon, killing both of them?

I would be all for Bulkhead dieng it would end all the Bulkhead dieng threads at least.

 

At least there they had the fallback of moral problems surrounding his creation and Ratchet's time spent with him. (you know, created dumb so he wouldn't think about all the lives he'd take, then basically dying yadda yadda) I severely doubt, say, Soundwave has a strong emotional attachement to the personality in the ship and doesn't want to exploit it.

 

I'm calling it:

I didn't think anything other than the "well that was stupid" since we only found out all that backstory a 8 month season wait after he woke up, and even then Ratchet didn't show any conflict when he decided that it was time to wake him up. In fact, he seemed SAD that he had to take him down in first place and even sadder when he had to take him down the second time when he was possesed by Starscream. When all was saida nd done I didn't like it and I would rather avoid it in future fiction.

It is as stupid as if they revealed Bumblebee can active a cannon out of his chest that explodes mountain ranges and all he needed to do it was a kiss from a charming prince. You can't introduce a badass gigantass ability late in game like that, not without giving a really good setback explanation like... see? Can't even think of a good explanation here. Just leave that concept alone and don't do it again.

Or do it anyway it's not like it ruined TFA for me and I would've totally bought a Omega toy anyway. (STILL would totally buy it, Hasbro people that read TFW! Hint hint hint hint!)

That'd be cool but they can't do it with this budget. They can't even afford to show WJ anymore lol.

 

If it IS Trypticon, the Exiles novel has already explained how he's been stasis-locked into the Nemesis form, his mind offline and his body stuck, since travelling through a faulty space bridge at the end of the previous novel. Should the episode be following these points of continuity and simply have repairs finally completed upon Trypticon at long last - either by other Decepticons or self-healing systems that bring his mind back online - then there's nothing stupid about it.
