After seeing what someone else did with the scourge mold i knew i wanted to use my spare to make this guy. I present Waverider/Diver.

I made an addition to the legs to close the gap between the legs.

Keeping with the toy i painted the windshield gold

ratchet joints arent nice to paint

I used highbrows head and rounded the top shaving it down and using some putty. The added covers for the legs in vehicle mode cover the big holes left from skullcrunchers legs. Adds a lot to stability. Covers are custom made from styrene sheets.

    and now some poses

and a little action shot showing my future project of what is intended to be fangry.

And there you have it. Custom Waverider/Diver from Scourge and Skullcruncher. Hope you enjoyed. For those that want to give this a go not having the covers actually looks pretty good, i just really wanted to fill in the bottom portion of the legs. and you could always use just straight up scourge like the other guy did who i took inspiration from (you can find it in the appreciation thread).

Thanks for viewing and comments are welcome.

That looks good! If there was a bit more detailing however, this could be great!

The ratchet joints could have been dyed black, would have added some extra highlights. Not familiar with the character but looks really cool!

Looks awesome!! I've been thinking of a few ways for how to make this guy, (and a couple other pretenders) but this is the best way I think it can be done. Awesome! :thumb

Given how crap those pieces actually are (on my copy, the teeth of the hip gears don't match each other and it's impossible to get it to stand with his legs at symmetrical angles), he might be better off making custom parts and dying those.

That looks really nice!! The best thing about the G1 Pretenders is that their inner robots had relatively simple designs. I hope HasTak is taking notes.

Weirdly enough, this makes me want to see one where the big robot's details are based on the shell and the TM colors are from the inner robot - mostly because the shells are SO much more visually interesting than the robots...

I've customised a few Pretender inner robots recently myself:

    Cloudburst from Classics Jetfire.
    Landmine from Cybertron Swindle.
Thunderwing from Sentinel Prime with Nucleon.
Stranglehold from Armada Rhinox with a custom Shapeways Titanmaster.

    That Waverider looks amazing.
