I liked the Marvel Scorponok best, he had the most character development of any version, he was also the first decepticon leader not to be a blind idiot when it came to dealing with the Autobots and other threats.
Headmaster Scorponok (the cartoon) has some epic battles with Fort Max, but mainly he always crapping on about stealing energy, getting this or that, not much of a planner or a leader really. And why Galvatron ever trusted him I don't know. I know Galvy was crazy in the movie and the later G1 seasons, but in Headmasters he's just plain dumb/naive, like it's a joke how incompetent he is, which seems to be a running theme in a lot of Japanese super-robot shows.

Before Soundwave? It's hard to remember the order of things sometimes when including the UK stuff.

Different pictures have been showing me different things.

What exactly is the shade of red on Hot Rod?

Could someone who owns the toy post a picture they think shows the red "accurately"?

I want to know if it's anywhere near the pinish or magenta tone I'd like.

It's more orange/redish. One of the reasons I'm waiting to see what Takara does before buying. I'd like something closer to the Marvel color.

I'm with you, but just 'cause I'm a huge 1986 movie guy.

The movie's color pallete was one of its best qualities. It was almost like they were using the same eccentric color choices that the comics used out of necessity as an artistic decison.

Unicron wasn't yellow and gray, he was dandelion and washed out slate blue.

Sharkticons weren't purple, blue , and gray with yellow eyes, they were violet, lavender, teal, and that same washed out slate blue with milky yellow-green eyes.

Hot Rod was not red, yellow, orange, gray, and black, he was deep magenta, sunny yellow, bright orange, slate gray, and dark dark charcoal.

Those outrageous colors give the movie it's identity and lend to its lasting appeal. I've always been awestruck by them, since I was 4.

I've had two dates since I've bought the Shout! BluRay where we've watched the film, not to mention the many children in my extended family and the friends who have been happy to get high and watch, and enjoyment varied but every one of them raved about the colors and the artwork.

I need to get this mold in a colorscheme representative of that film if it ever exists, you know? That aspect of the film and the character is just massively important to me.

The comics are the best. Would be so much easier if scorponok and fort max were that small. Then space wouldn't be an issue

    Iron Factory Scorponok is small?
I'm getting one of those for sure.
I have G1 Scorponok too, but he goes with the other big bots for me.

The detailing in each of the Titan Master designs definitely makes up for the lack of painted areas in my opinion. Ptero is so very Swoop-like, it's great. I'm sad I only grabbed one of him now, I may have to find another.

Soundwave arrived today, still haven't seen one in stores so mail order was my best bet. Got a good price too. He's very cool, I do like him more than Blaster, but it's very close. I think this would be a fun toy for my nephew, so if I can find another on sale I may buy it.

The comics are not the best. They ignore the main alt modes which are meaningless at that size. Citybots with base modes that never got used in the Marvel comics, because no one could fit in the bases. That's not "best." That's Budiansky f*cking up royally.

Scorponok became a scorpion maybe twice, and Fortress Maximus became a surfboard for PMOP and Blaster once. Otherwise, they were just robots all the time. Almost like a sneak preview for current IDW, where the characters forget they are Transformers.

Thats the point if all the fictiin. Hasbro may invest more in the fictiin and may rate their importance higher than before and invest in interactivity but its still a means to an end. And that end is publicity, maybe not always for any particular toy or character, but always for the franchise.
