So did the G1 toy. Takara, i feel, was too faithful to that look, where as Hasbro, thought some foot shaped feet would be better.

...and by “thought” and “better” you mean “knew re-using magnus’ feet would be cheaper.”

The takara ones are weird but cool I think. If the revisit that character I wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Was it? Because it sounded like the typical “hasblo” dig. Sorry if I read it wrong

I absolutely love that siege is helping to keep older figures relevant. Can’t wait till aimless and caliburst come out

I definitely didn’t mean it as a “hasblo” dig but can see how my comment came across as such. I apologize that I didn’t communicate my thoughts about business decisions more clearly.

Do I think Hasbro made cost cutting decisions on TRPM Optimus? Yes I do...but, in saying so, I do not mean to disparage them or insinuate “they should have given us a whole new figure, costs and capitalism be @$?#-ed!” I just mean looking at that figure I think they made a decision to provide a new product to consumers and do so by saving costs by providing that figure through the ‘partial-retool’ method.

I hope that is a better way of describing my thoughts and opinions, than my previous comment. Apologies again if I sounded like i was jumping on the “hasblo” train. That’s not what I was going for.

Man, with the way Siege is so close to looking like the cartoon I really wish they would take another crack at Chromedome to make him actually look like the character. For someone who was basically the hero of his whole show you would think he'd get a better toy.

it looks horrible yes, but the doofy feet is also part of the god bomber / jinrai combination mode. Not a good part either , it's all loosey goosey.
I def prefer the hasbro leader Optimus as a standalone figure, but I count them as two diff characters so both get to stay in my collection.

Stay tuned next week for another episode of "Doofy Feet" with your hosts Link and Toad.

You're referring to the Chromedome of "The Headmasters," which is JG1, and thus unconnected to the American version of the cartoon, which ended with the Rebirth.
