In all the excitement over the club's Classics related announcements and the Sunstreaker pic, it seems to have been missed that the Seacons and Nightbeat are going to hopefully be available to order in March, with them shipping in April. They're even hoping to have them at Botcon.

Big deal. Once again, they're promising us that Seacons are coming "soon."

Call me when/if they actually follow through on it.

That's a flagrant misuse of "soon." An actual timeframe was stated!

    Fair enough.

No price yet. But March isn't too far off to find out.

    Check.

I like the club...that being said, I don't take any of their stated timeframes seriously. Especially not after the Joe Club tank bit.

I'll believe it when it's in my sweaty lil' geek palms.

If the club is going to offer the Seacons, I'm going to have to join. Have they posted any pictures of how they will be painted? Are there any other club figures other than Astrotrain and Airazor? I mean besides the free yearly combiner figures.

The Seacons are going to be the Unreleased Energon/Universe Seacons, but they'll likely have some sort of personal touch from the Council. Besides the upcoming Nightbeat, Astrotrain and Airazor are the only figures besides the free yearly ones.

Having been in the club from the get go, I can say that now is a good time to sign up. It looks like they have the two exclusives a year pattern down. They've got a lot of prose fiction planned for this year. They're starting quarterly Timelines comics releases (first one focuses on the upcoming Nightbeat exclusive in the Classicsverse). They've been slowly but surely updating the club website with exclusives like the Max Cop Bios. Also, the free yearly figure set is almost complete and they've announced that the torso figure will feature a new head (for the combined mode I believe).

I reccomend giving it a go. Spend the $40. At the least, you'll get a year of Club Magazines/comics, a free combiner figure, access to the upcoming web exclusive fiction and bios, and you'll be able to buy the exclusives. If after that year, you weren't impressed, at least you gave it an honest chance. The club does have room for improvement, but it is rapidly improving.

Isn't posting club-exclusive news like this, or even the names of the yet-unreleased Classics figures like Octane and Powerglide just as bad as posting images?

I was going to try and figure out a way to get the Seacons, but I think I'll go with Omega Supreme instead. Not being a member of the club, he'll probably be cheaper anyway.

Nope. Copying/pasting is bad, but in general spreading the news is ok.

I don't understand that. Its still exclusive information. If you "generally spread" secret government information, you are getting arrested, and its that level of importance that people in the Classics thread seem to place on their exclusive club news.

For pictures that we receive early as a perk of membership, there is a deserved sense of "don't spread that around non-members." It's a perk of our membership, which we pay for, and should not be shared right away with people who are not also paying members. If you want to see the picture right away, join the club and log into the forum. Otherwise, wait until Hasbro unveils it to the fandom at large.

Spreading word of news like this on the other hand can only promote the club and hopefully entice new members. I expect a fair number of people to sign up and give the club a chance just because of the Seacons. I know a couple members over at the forum say they joined because of either Astrotrain or Airazor. Another good example is the Theft of the Golden Disk video. The Club made it available to anyone, but Club Members have access to bios (one so far, more on the way) of the characters shown in the video.

That's right. The groundlings certainly don't deserve to hear this news handed down from the mountains by the gods at the TFCC.

Oh whatever. C'mon, it is not like that in the slightest. I clearly said on the members board that people are more than welcome to talk about the upcoming announcements/news that will be in next issue.

However, there are rules about scanning/stealing images from copyrighted sources. We have a main Club site and a Members only site. The Members only site in one way is an extension of the Magazine and images from both belong to us.

Hasbro will release the images of the Classics, of course, but we were allowed to offer up the initial sneak peak to club members...

Don't worry Pete, I'm pretty sure he was referring to NIDARAM12's comments, not you/the Club's rules. 'Least that's how I took it.

*is thinking long and hard about finally joining*
