Am I not seeing all of the pictures? I don't see the hands of the one in full view (the upper one). I see one hand of the one in profile (the lower one), and that doesn't look anything like a Divebomb head-hand to me.

From what I can see, I'm just not seeing Divebomb.

EDIT: Oh. And, apparently, I'm not the only one. :)

One has TEETH and a mouth... the other has fingers...

    Neither are divebombs.

They are supposed to be tripredacus Council I assume.

Besides there is a thick black line... so it looks like two shots of the same character in the darkness.

That isn't MUMU megs from Beast machines is it???? Gots the fingers, the shoulders and face...

Maybe we will see that Beast machines Megs prompted his pre BW form to take his little trip?

    Paradoxical?

Okay, gotta bust your chops. You do own a original Dinobot, right? Notice how the head looks very little like the actual cgi version. And how bout Blacharachnia, YIKES. Let's not forget Airrazor, Rhinox, heck, even Tigatron's straight up repaint of Cheetor looked very little like the show version.

So, there is nothing wrong with taking a little creative liberty from toy to show, and while we are doing it reverse style here I figure the same rule should apply :)

I don't know why, but this made me laugh a lot! :lol

But Pete, why did you left out an original Rattrap out of the list of Beast Wars toys you were comparing to the show? :p

Seriously though: I think Clocker-to-Cheetor would be a more acceptable substitute than Ransack-to-Rattrap. But don't worry, I still like the set. IMHO It would've been better if:

First: if Rattrap had gotten one of the remolded heads.
Second: seeing as Rattrap didn't get the remolded head, then the comic should've reflected that.

OTOH, my earlier complaints about not "seeing" Rhinox in Landmine's face, have been put to rest. The comic art sold me on that.

P.S.: I'll be wearing this cap at the con. I feel I should talk with Pete in person.

Part of it .... yes. But the face (which is still part of the head) is different. And Rattrap's face was so unique. ;)

Bah-huh? But the comic does reflect that. Yes, it is a stretch, but my point all along is that the face on TF toys are stretched all the time. My goodness, look at
G1 Bumblebee. EDIT Now THAT is a unique head

I get your point, but just as we "stretched" Rhinox we "stretched" Rattrap. We are really not doing anything new here. I felt it was very important to show that similarity between the toy and the comic but still stay true to the show. I think we found that middle ground.

Oh, and I won't be talking to anybody who wears that hat ;)

Rattrap should have been C Hardtop! the TM mode has 4 wheels, and the head looks better.

Cheetor should have been C Hotshot, or even Override

Rhinox is fine, but could have been C Dirtboss

    Seconded.

Meanwhile, here's what I think about BC Rattrap.

    Imagine this guy:

-- INCLUDING HIS HEAD -- in original Rattrap colors. For my money, you get something reasonably close to this:

(Especially if you consider the BM toy's optional transformation to give him real legs.)

So I think the head -- along with the rest of him -- works REALLY well. :thumb

Pete, I'd just like to say thanks for the awesome toys. Regardless of the disagreements about the mold choices, noone will say the concept isn't great for an exclusive set. Characters we all know and care about, unlike last years set. I so look forward to getting these. Thanks again, and see you at the con!

    P.S.
Thanks for hosting the con in my back yard. :thumb  I don't think I could've went had you not.

I don't know, they are still Cybertron figures with BW heads....The art is not "wow" either, no offense.

I agree. While I absolutlely LOVE the Optimus and Megatron exclusives this year, I've been digging the Pre-BW Rattrap for the very reasons you mentioned. Nice homage to future versions of the character.

And while I'd certainly love to be surprised with Terrorsaur and Scorponok as well, I will squeal like a little girl if they manage to spring a pre-BW Tarantulas on us. I've got plans to make one from a transmetal Tarantulas and Cybertron Unicron if they dont, (actually, I'll probably do it anyway) but it would be nice to have an official one.
