    Ebay:
So far the winner is a starting bid of 1000$ for the custom class Shockwave set..that things averaging price of about 1000$ to start off. Most sets are going for about 150-175$ for 2 figures..but there really does seem to be a lot available..wait a few months, price will likely drop on a lot of them as the market is kinda flooded. But I'm sure some are gonna really blow up. Maybe.

35$ for the green plastic Soundwave headband..fun.

Whoever pays 35$ for that headband deserves to be parted with his money!

The fun part is trying to wait patiently for 4 or 5 weeks (at least) for the prices to drop before I go hunting for a kickoff and Spinister.

It will also be interesting to see how quickly the prices go down today.

I think biggest drops will go towards Ultra Magnus. I see SG Prime going up simply because of what the last SG Prime did..

I'm so glad I don't like the looks of all this stuff. It would drive me nuts to have to pay so much for a figure.

Look at that headband. LOOK AT IT.

It's horrendous. And not even the right color! A twist tie would do a better job.

I'm fascinated by the secondary market sales of the Botcon exclusive Shockwave figures... who are these people who are paying $1000 for this?

No judgement here, I'm genuinely curious.

Now I want to start my own third party company called iBand or Headfan or something and start selling twist ties painted the right color on eBay just to see who would actually buy them, given what the FunPub ones are going for.

    Classics/mold completionists
    Shattered Glass collectors
    Shockwave completionists

I'm a little surprised by the price for the customization class figure, just because when I heard about it I didn't think it would be as popular as its previous predecessors G2 Sideswipe and Minerva.

There is no guarantee of quality at all
Un-assembled maybe but that's about it

I just bought the SG Junkions for 188 bucks which I think was a decent deal. I normally try to wait out the Botcon rush, but I think this strategy can backfire at times. The SG Junkions happen to be figures that I think will appreciate in value and their prices will eventually rise due to the Junkions overall popularity, the fact that they have 3 different head molds (1 of which never even saw a stateside release) and they're homaging 3 popular Decepticon characters. In my opinion, the SG Junkions are probably the only 3 SG figures that were done right this year.

That being said, I'm sure many fans will agree with this and their demand will be fairly high down the line. It's just best, in my opinion, to spend the money now instead of waiting and risking the possibility that their prices will soar. Besides, 180 dollars for 3 deluxe sized Botcon figures isn't too bad. Works out to roughly 60 bucks a piece which, for an exclusive set of figures, I can live with.

People with more money than sense.

Or people with so much money they don't NEED to be sensible about it.

So far, I haven't seen one BotCon toy from this year that I'd be willing to pay $12.99 for, much less $100-$1000.

Why the hell would you pay that much money, a thousand USD? For a couple of hundred you could pay a Radicon to make you an amazing one that would be virtually the same in every way.

I have no love for junkions or insecticons and I hate Shattered Glass, but I think you made a great decision. "Waiting for prices to drop" is a mirage sometimes. Would you rather try to buy a Botcon 2006 Megatron the day it came out, or now?
